The Moto G34 is a standard candy-bar smartphone with no folding mechanism and no rugged build certification. It measures 162.7 mm tall, 74.6 mm wide, and 8 mm thick, with a total volume of 97.1 cm³, and weighs 179 g. The device offers no water resistance, leaving it unprotected against moisture exposure. On the repairability front, it holds a French Repairability Index score of 6.9, indicating a moderate level of serviceability under that rating system.

The Moto G34 uses a 6.5-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 270 ppi. Its 120Hz refresh rate keeps on-screen motion relatively smooth, complemented by a 240Hz touch sampling rate for responsive input. The display does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen. Branded damage-resistant glass is also absent, and the panel is a single flat screen with no folding or curved design.

The Moto G34 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G, an octa-core chipset built on a 6 nm process with two performance cores running at 2.2 GHz and six efficiency cores at 1.7 GHz, supported by integrated LTE and an Adreno 619 GPU clocked at 950 MHz. The chip is paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz across two memory channels, offering a maximum memory bandwidth of 17 GB/s, while 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage can be expanded by up to 1TB externally. Benchmark results place it at 424,000 on AnTuTu, 894 single-core and 2,044 multi-core on Geekbench 6, and 4,389 on PassMark. The SoC supports 64-bit processing, big.LITTLE task scheduling, Heterogeneous Multi-Processing, ARM TrustZone, DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, though hardware multithreading is not enabled. Thermal Design Power is rated at 4W.

The Moto G34 features a dual-lens rear camera system led by a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, paired with a 2MP secondary lens at f/2.4, both using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination. Autofocus is handled by phase-detection for stills and continuous autofocus during video, though laser autofocus is absent. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30fps, with slow-motion capture also supported; there is no optical zoom and no optical image stabilization. The camera app includes a solid range of manual controls — ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance — alongside HDR mode, burst shooting, panorama, and timelapse, though manual shutter speed and RAW capture are not available. A single LED flash is present on the rear, with no dual-tone or RGB variants, and the front 16MP camera has no dedicated flash, sits in a standard position above the display, and operates as a single lens.

The Moto G34 runs Android 13 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location access management, and camera and microphone permissions, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not present. On the customisation side, the OS supports dynamic and manual theme customisation, dark mode, extra dim mode, widgets, and customisable notifications, while focus modes and app offloading are not available. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, Live Text selection, and the ability to play games while they download in the background. The device also supports offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, multi-user accounts, child lock, battery health monitoring, and phone tracking, though Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are absent. OS updates are not delivered directly from the platform vendor.

The Moto G34 houses a 5000 mAh non-removable rechargeable battery with a rated life of 59 hours. It supports fast charging at 18W, and a charger is included in the box, though wireless charging is not available. A battery level indicator is present, giving users a clear read of remaining charge at a glance.

The Moto G34 includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, along with a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the higher-quality Bluetooth codecs are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent, meaning Bluetooth audio is limited to standard codec transmission.

The Moto G34 supports 5G connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and a cellular module, with rated download and upload speeds of 2500 Mbits/s and 1500 Mbits/s respectively. It accepts a single SIM card and includes a USB Type-C port running on USB 2.0, an external memory slot, and NFC. Location is handled via GPS and Galileo, and the device includes an accelerometer and a fingerprint scanner, though it lacks a gyroscope, compass, barometer, and any form of motion or optical tracking. Biometric options are limited to the fingerprint scanner — 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. Additional features such as HDMI output, an infrared sensor, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, a heart rate monitor, a built-in projector, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, and a stylus are all absent.

The Moto G34 includes a video light to assist with recording in low-light conditions. The display is a standard flat panel — neither curved nor e-paper — and sapphire glass is not used for screen protection.
