It carries an IP52 rating, which means it offers basic protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water splashing, though it does not hold a rugged certification for more demanding environments.

The Moto G64 5G features a 6.5″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a 1080 x 2400 px resolution and a pixel density of 405 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image across the panel. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate, contributing to smoother on-screen motion during everyday use. It does not include branded damage-resistant glass, an Always-On Display mode, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen.

The Moto G64 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with a CPU configuration of 2 x 2.5 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz cores that supports 64-bit processing, multithreading, HMP, and big.LITTLE technology. It is paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 2750 MHz across 4 memory channels, a maximum memory bandwidth of 51.2 GB/s, and a maximum supported memory amount of 16 GB, alongside 256 GB of internal storage. Graphics are handled by the integrated IMG BXM-8-256 GPU clocked at 900 MHz, featuring 18 shading units, DirectX 12 support, and OpenCL 2.0 compatibility. The chipset also includes integrated LTE and an NX bit for hardware-level security. In benchmarks, the device scores 470,000 on AnTuTu, 884 single-core and 2,291 multi-core on Geekbench 6, and 690 single-core and 1,890 multi-core on Geekbench 5.

The Moto G64 5G features a dual-lens rear camera system with a 50 MP primary sensor at f/2.2 and an 8 MP secondary lens at f/1.8, both using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination. The main camera supports optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, continuous autofocus during video, and a selection of manual controls covering ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. It records video at up to 1080p at 30 fps with slow-motion support, and includes HDR mode, burst shooting, and in-camera panoramas, while RAW capture, 360-degree panorama, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D recording are not supported. The interface offers theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, widgets, and sharing intents, while focus modes, app offloading, Wi-Fi password sharing, and Quick Start are not available. Productivity is further supported through split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text for selecting text in images, a child lock, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. OS updates are not delivered directly from the platform vendor.

The Moto G64 5G is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 33W wired fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status, though wireless charging is not supported.

The Moto G64 5G includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, along with a built-in FM radio. On the wireless audio side, it does not support aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC, meaning higher-quality Bluetooth audio codec options are absent.

It accommodates two SIM cards and includes an external memory slot for expandable storage, while the USB Type-C port operates at USB 2.0 speeds, and there is no HDMI output. For location, the device covers GPS, Galileo, and a compass, and onboard sensors include an accelerometer, though a gyroscope, barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are all absent. Biometric security is handled by a fingerprint scanner; 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. ANT+, DLNA certification, satellite emergency SOS, crash detection, a stylus, and a built-in projector are likewise not featured.

The Moto G64 5G includes a video light for illumination during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
