Motorola Moto G77

The Motorola Moto G77 has a non-folding, non-rugged form factor measuring 164.2 mm tall, 77.4 mm wide, and just 7.3 mm thick, with a total volume of 92.776284 cm³ and a weight of 182 g. It carries an IP64 rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making it water resistant in everyday conditions.

The Motorola Moto G77 features a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1272 x 2772 px and a pixel density of 450 ppi, paired with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for fluid on-screen motion. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and supports an Always-On Display mode, though it does not include HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision support, and there is no secondary screen present.

The Moto G77 is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU running at 2 x 2.5 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE technology and multithreading support. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2133 MHz and 256GB of internal storage, while the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU operates at 950 MHz with integrated graphics capable of driving one display and supporting DirectX 12. The SoC also features integrated LTE, a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s, and full 64-bit support.

The Moto G77 features a dual-lens rear camera system led by a 108 MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, paired with an 8 MP lens at f/2.2, both backed by a BSI CMOS sensor and optical image stabilization. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus for photos, as well as continuous autofocus during video, while a dual-tone LED flash with two LEDs assists in low-light situations. Video recording reaches up to 1440 x 30 fps, with slow-motion and timelapse modes available, though HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not supported and there is no optical zoom. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, and the camera also supports burst mode and in-camera panoramas, but does not shoot RAW or offer manual shutter speed. On the front, a single-lens 32 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture handles selfies, without a front-facing flash or an under-display placement.

The Moto G77 runs Android 16, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user profiles, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. Privacy features are well covered, including clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are absent. On the personalization side, the OS offers dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, customizable notifications, and an extra dim mode, while practical tools like full-page screenshots, Live Text, a media picker, battery health check, app offloading, offline voice recognition, voice commands, device tracking, and a child lock are all on board. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not supported, and focus modes and Wi-Fi password sharing are also unavailable.

The Moto G77 is equipped with a 5200 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 30W fast charging, and a battery level indicator is included to keep track of remaining charge. The battery is non-removable, and the device does not support wireless charging or reverse wireless charging; a charger is also not included in the box.

The Moto G77 includes stereo speakers and supports aptX HD for higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, though aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are not available. The device does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack and lacks a built-in radio.

The Moto G77 supports 5G connectivity with download speeds of up to 3300 MBits/s, and connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) as well as Bluetooth 5.4. The device accommodates two SIM cards, includes a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, an external memory slot, and NFC. For navigation and sensing, it features GPS with Galileo support, a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, while a fingerprint scanner handles biometric authentication; 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. Notably absent are HDMI output, an infrared sensor, a barometer, a heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, and a built-in projector.

The Moto G77 includes a video light to assist with recording in low-light conditions, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
