Motorola Razr Fold

The Motorola Razr Fold is a foldable device with a folding form factor that measures 160.1 mm in height, 144.5 mm in width, and just 4.7 mm in thickness, with a total volume of 108.731915 cm³ and a weight of 243 g. It carries an IPX8 ingress protection rating, classifying it as waterproof and capable of withstanding submersion to a depth of 1.5 m. The device does not feature a rugged build.

The Motorola Razr Fold features an 8.1″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2232 x 2484 px and a pixel density of 410 ppi, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate and an Always-On Display mode. The panel supports HDR10 and HDR10+, though it does not support Dolby Vision, and is protected by branded damage-resistant glass. A secondary screen is also present, offering a resolution of 1080 x 2520 px.

The Motorola Razr Fold is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3 nm process and configured with 8 threads running at 2 x 3.8 GHz and 6 x 3.32 GHz using big.LITTLE technology with HMP support. It comes with 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 4800 MHz, a maximum supported memory amount of 24GB, and 1024GB of internal storage, while a maximum memory bandwidth of 84.8 GB/s is available across 2 memory channels. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 840 GPU, clocked at 1200 MHz with 3 execution units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 3, with integrated graphics and support for one display output. The chipset also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, 64-bit support, and multithreading, and achieves Geekbench 6 scores of 3600 (single-core) and 10800 (multi-core).

The Motorola Razr Fold carries a triple rear camera system with three 50 MP sensors at apertures of f/1.6, f/2, and f/2.4, covering a focal range of 12 mm to 71 mm and offering 3x optical zoom along with built-in optical image stabilization. Video recording reaches up to 4320 x 30 fps, with support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording, slow-motion capture, and continuous autofocus during filming. For stills, the system includes phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, burst mode, HDR mode, panorama, timelapse, and RAW shooting, as well as manual controls for exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. A single LED flash is present, without dual-tone or RGB variants, and there is no laser autofocus, BSI sensor, CMOS sensor, or 360-degree panorama capability. The 20 MP front camera sits at f/2.4 and is a single-lens unit without an under-display placement or a front-facing flash.

The Motorola Razr Fold runs Android 16, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user profiles, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device position tracking. Privacy features include clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. The interface supports theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, extra dim mode, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, a media picker, Live Text, full-page screenshots, and app offloading. Users can also check battery health, play games while they download, and make use of on-device machine learning. Focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not supported, and OS updates do not come directly from the platform vendor.

The Motorola Razr Fold houses a rechargeable 6000 mAh battery with a battery level indicator, supporting wired fast charging at 80W and wireless charging at 50W. It also offers reverse wireless charging at 5W, allowing the device to charge other compatible accessories wirelessly. The battery is not removable, and no charger is included in the box.

The Motorola Razr Fold includes stereo speakers and a 3-microphone array, but does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack or a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The Motorola Razr Fold supports 5G connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, 6E, and 7, and accepts up to two physical SIM cards plus one eSIM, though there is no external memory slot. Wired connectivity is handled by a USB Type-C 3.2 port, while download and upload speeds reach up to 10,000 Mbit/s and 3,500 Mbit/s respectively. NFC is included, and biometric security is provided via a fingerprint scanner, though 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are absent. The sensor suite covers a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer, GPS, and Galileo satellite navigation, while motion tracking, optical tracking, a heart rate monitor, an infrared sensor, and ANT+ support are not present. Features such as emergency SOS via satellite, crash detection, DLNA certification, HDMI output, a built-in projector, and a stylus are also not available.

The Motorola Razr Fold includes a video light but does not feature a sapphire glass display, a curved display, or an e-paper display.
