The MSI MPG Z890 Edge Ti WiFi is built on the Z890 chipset and uses the LGA 1851 socket, accommodating a single CPU in a standard ATX form factor measuring 304.8 mm wide by 243.8 mm tall. Wireless connectivity is handled by an integrated module supporting Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) alongside Wi-Fi 6E, 6, 5, and 4, paired with Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX audio codec support is not included. The board features an HDMI 2.1 output, RGB lighting, and a clear CMOS button for straightforward BIOS resets, and it supports overclocking. There is no dual BIOS, no integrated graphics, and no integrated CPU, while a three-year warranty is provided.
The board supports DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum capacity of 256GB. Stock RAM speed tops out at 4800 MHz, while overclocking can push that figure up to 9200 MHz. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel offers a well-rounded selection of USB connectivity, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports and two USB 4 40Gbps ports, alongside four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, and a single USB 2.0 port. There are no USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4 20Gbps, or Thunderbolt 3 ports present. Video output is provided through one HDMI connector, while DisplayPort, DVI, and VGA outputs are absent. Networking is covered by a single RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports on the board.
Storage connectivity is handled by five M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors, with no SATA 2, U.2, or mSATA connectors present. For expansion, the board provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers and two USB 3.0 headers, along with four USB 2.0 headers for additional port access. Cooling is well catered for with eight fan headers available across the board, and a TPM connector is included for platform security needs.
The board includes one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for primary expansion cards, along with a single PCIe x1 slot for smaller add-in cards. There are no PCIe 3.0 x16, PCIe 2.0 x16, PCIe x4, PCIe x8, or legacy PCI slots available.
The onboard audio solution supports 7.1-channel output and delivers a DAC signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB, with two analog audio connectors available on the rear panel. Digital audio output is covered by an S/PDIF Out port for passing audio to external receivers or DACs.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0) configurations, covering a range of performance and redundancy needs. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
