The MSI Pro A620M-C EX is a Micro-ATX motherboard measuring 243.8 mm wide by 220 mm tall, built around a single AM5 CPU socket with no integrated CPU or integrated graphics on the board itself. It supports easy overclocking and includes HDMI 2.1 video output, while Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, RGB lighting, dual BIOS, and an easy CMOS reset button are all absent. The board is backed by a 3-year warranty.
The board accommodates DDR5 memory across two slots in a dual-channel configuration, supporting up to 128GB at a native maximum speed of 5,600 MHz. Overclocked memory speeds can reach 7,800 MHz, giving builders flexibility for higher-performance memory kits. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel provides a broad mix of USB options, including one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, and three USB 2.0 ports, while USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, and Thunderbolt 4 are all absent. Video output is handled by an HDMI port, one DisplayPort, one DVI output, and a VGA connector, covering a wide range of display connectivity options. Rounding out the rear panel are one RJ45 Ethernet port, one PS/2 port for legacy peripherals, and no eSATA connections.
Internal connectivity includes two M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors for storage, with no SATA 2, mSATA, or U.2 sockets available. USB expansion headers allow for two additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two USB 3.0 ports through front-panel connectors, alongside four further USB 2.0 ports via expansion. The board also features three fan headers for cooling management and includes a TPM connector for hardware security module support.
Expansion options consist of one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for a primary graphics card or other full-bandwidth add-in card, one PCIe x1 slot for smaller expansion cards, and one legacy PCI slot. PCIe 5.0 x16, PCIe 3.0 x16, PCIe 2.0 x16, PCIe x4, and PCIe x8 slots are all absent, keeping the layout focused and straightforward for a Micro-ATX platform.
The board supports 7.1-channel audio output through three analog audio connectors on the rear panel. An S/PDIF Out port is not included.
The board supports RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10 (1+0) configurations for flexible storage setup, whether prioritizing speed, redundancy, or a combination of both. RAID 5 and RAID 0+1 are not supported.
