It carries an IP54 rating, meaning it offers a degree of protection against dust and water splashes, though it does not feature a rugged build designed for more demanding environments.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite uses an OLED/AMOLED touchscreen measuring 6.77″ with a resolution of 1080 x 2392 px and a pixel density of 388 ppi, delivering a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and a typical brightness of 800 nits. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate paired with a 1000Hz touch sampling rate, and it includes Always-On Display functionality as well as HDR10 support. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are not supported, and the device has no secondary screen or branded damage-resistant glass coating.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, built on a 4 nm process with 6,200 million transistors and an eight-thread CPU configured as four cores at 2.5 GHz and four cores at 2 GHz using big.LITTLE and HMP technology. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G615 MC2 GPU running at 1047 MHz with support for DirectX 12 and a single display output. The chip integrates LTE and is paired with 8 GB of DDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz, expandable up to a maximum of 16 GB, alongside 256 GB of internal storage and external memory support up to 2048 GB. The platform is fully 64-bit capable and achieves a Geekbench 6 single-core score of 1026 and a multi-core score of 2932.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite features a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 50 MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and pixel size of 1 µm alongside an 8 MP sensor at f/1.9 with 1.12 µm pixels, covering a focal range of 15 mm to 24 mm. The main camera uses a CMOS sensor with optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is absent and there is no BSI sensor. It supports 4K video recording at 30 fps along with slow-motion video, timelapse, HDR mode, burst mode, and in-camera panoramas, while HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D capture are not available. Manual controls include exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not present, and RAW shooting is not supported. A single LED flash is included without dual-tone or RGB options, and the 16 MP front camera sits at f/2.5 without a flash, a secondary lens, or an under-display placement.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite runs Android 15, an open-source platform that supports multi-user profiles, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, app offloading, and the ability to play games while they download. Privacy options are fairly broad, covering clipboard warnings, location controls, camera and microphone access management, and app tracking prevention, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not included. Customization features include dynamic theming, theme customization, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while notification permissions and customizable notifications give users further control over their experience. The OS also includes on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, a media picker, battery health check, phone tracking, and a child lock. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not supported, and OS updates are not delivered directly from the platform vendor.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite houses a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery that is non-removable and supports 33W wired fast charging, with a battery level indicator to keep track of remaining charge. Wireless charging is not available, and a charger is not included in the box.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite includes a triple microphone array but omits a number of common audio features — there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, no stereo speakers, and no built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codec options are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite supports 5G connectivity with download and upload speeds of up to 3270 Mbit/s, and accommodates two SIM cards alongside a USB Type-C port running at USB 2.0 speeds. Wi-Fi coverage spans Wi-Fi 4, Wi-Fi 5, and Wi-Fi 6, while Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC round out the wireless options. An external memory slot is present, though no SD card is included in the box. For navigation and motion sensing, the device carries GPS with Galileo support, a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass, while a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and ANT+ support are all absent. Security is handled by a fingerprint scanner, with no 3D facial recognition or iris scanner on board. Features such as satellite emergency SOS, crash detection, DLNA certification, HDMI output, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are not available, and no stylus is included.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
