The NuPhy Gem80 is a standard tenkeyless mechanical keyboard built around a gasket mount design, available in both wireless and wired configurations. It connects via Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz wireless, or USB, and delivers a polling rate of 1000 Hz alongside a wireless battery life rated at 330 hours. The detachable cable adds convenience for wired use, while the board is not specifically designed for Mac. Physically, it measures 358.1 × 141.3 × 36.7 mm and weighs 1,120 g. The keyboard is not designed for Mac and carries a one-year warranty.
The NuPhy Gem80 features a backlit keyboard with RGB lighting directed in a south-facing orientation, housed in a case constructed from a combination of plastic and aluminum with an FR4 plate. It is available in five color options — Black, White, Pink, Gray, and Blue — and includes adjustable feet for typing angle customization. A wrist rest is not included in the package.
The NuPhy Gem80 ships with NuPhy Mint linear mechanical switches, which actuate at 2 mm with a force of 42 g and offer a total travel distance of 3.6 mm. The switches are hot-swappable, allowing them to be replaced without soldering for straightforward customization down the line.
The NuPhy Gem80 supports QMK and VIA, giving users the ability to remap keys and customize firmware behavior through widely used open-source tools. N-key rollover (NKRO) is included, ensuring every simultaneous keypress is registered accurately. The board does not offer analog input, rapid trigger, dual actuation, adjustable actuation, USB passthrough, ZMK support, or an onboard display.
The NuPhy Gem80 uses an ANSI (United States) layout with a standard key arrangement and PBT double-shot keycaps in an OEM profile. Media functions are accessible via the Fn key rather than dedicated keys, and the board does not include a rotary dial.
