OnePlus 15R

The OnePlus 15R has a non-folding, non-rugged form factor measuring 163.4 mm tall, 77 mm wide, and 8.1 mm thick, with a total volume of 101.91 cm³ and a weight of 213 g. It carries an IP68 ingress protection rating, certifying it as waterproof at depths of up to 1.5 m.

The OnePlus 15R features a 6.83″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1272 x 2800 px at 450 ppi, backed by a 165Hz refresh rate and an exceptionally high touch sampling rate of 3200Hz for responsive input. Typical brightness sits at 1800 nits, and the display supports both HDR10 and HDR10+ for wide dynamic range content, though Dolby Vision is not supported. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and includes an Always-On Display mode, while there is no secondary screen. Dolby Vision playback is absent, but the panel does support an always-on state and is covered by damage-resistant branded glass.

The OnePlus 15R is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 3 nm chipset with an 8-thread CPU configured at 2 x 3.8 GHz and 6 x 3.32 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support, delivering Geekbench 6 scores of 3600 single-core and 10800 multi-core. The SoC integrates an Adreno 840 GPU clocked at 1200 MHz with 3 execution units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 3, and is capable of driving one display. The chipset also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support. The device ships with 12 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 4800 MHz across 2 memory channels, with a maximum memory capacity of 24 GB and a peak bandwidth of 84.8 GB/s, alongside 512 GB of internal eMMC 5.1 storage.

The OnePlus 15R has a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 50 MP sensor at f/2.2 and an 8 MP sensor at f/1.8, both using CMOS technology without a back-illuminated sensor, and backed by optical image stabilization. Autofocus is handled via phase detection and touch AF for stills, along with continuous autofocus during video, though laser autofocus is absent. The main camera records video at up to 4K (2160p) at 60 fps with slow-motion support, but does not support HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording, nor 3D capture. A single LED flash is present — no dual-tone or RGB flash. Manual controls include exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while manual shutter speed is not available; burst mode, HDR, timelapse, and in-camera panoramas are all supported, though 360-degree panoramas are not. On the front, a single-lens 32 MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies, without a front flash or under-display placement, and RAW capture is not available on either camera.

The OnePlus 15R runs Android 16 as a free and open-source operating system, with OS updates delivered through the manufacturer rather than directly from the vendor. Privacy tooling covers clipboard warnings, location controls, and camera/microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are absent. Customization options include theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and Quick Start are not available. The system supports multi-user accounts, a child lock, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, sharing intents, a media picker, full-page screenshots, and the ability to select text from images. On-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device tracking are all present, and users can play games while they download, offload apps, and check battery health. Wi-Fi password sharing is not supported, and the device cannot function as a PC.

The OnePlus 15R houses a 7400 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery with a built-in level indicator, and a charger is included in the box. It supports 80W fast charging, but neither wireless charging nor reverse wireless charging is available.

The OnePlus 15R includes stereo speakers and supports aptX, aptX HD, and LDAC Bluetooth audio codecs for higher-quality wireless playback, though aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless are not available. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.

The OnePlus 15R supports 5G cellular connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11n/ac/ax/be), Bluetooth 6, and NFC, with download speeds reaching 10000 Mbits/s and upload speeds of 3500 Mbits/s. It accommodates one physical SIM and one eSIM, but has no external memory slot. The USB Type-C port operates at USB 2.0, and there is no HDMI output. For biometrics, a fingerprint scanner is present, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not; there is also no satellite SOS, crash detection, or stylus included. Onboard sensors cover GPS with Galileo support, a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer, and infrared sensor, whereas a heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are all absent. DLNA certification is not included.

The OnePlus 15R includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
