It carries an IP54 ingress protection rating, meaning it offers a degree of resistance against dust and water splashes, though it does not qualify as a rugged device built for harsher environments.

The Oppo A3x 5G features a 6.67″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1604 px and a pixel density of 264 ppi. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion, complemented by a 240Hz touch sampling rate that keeps input response feeling snappy. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, an Always-On mode, a secondary screen, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision.

The Oppo A3x 5G is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 system-on-chip, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 2 x 2.4 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support for efficient workload distribution across 8 threads. Graphics are handled by the integrated Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at 950 MHz, which supports DirectX 12. The device comes with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MHz and 128 GB of internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 12 GB and a peak memory bandwidth of 17.07 GB/s. Cache is arranged across 512 KB L1, 1 MB L2, and 2 MB L3 layers. In benchmarks, the chipset scores 409,464 on AnTuTu and posts Geekbench 6 results of 782 single-core and 2012 multi-core, with integrated LTE also present on the SoC alongside 64-bit and multithreading support.

The Oppo A3x 5G has a single-lens 8 MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a CMOS sensor, supporting phase-detection autofocus for stills as well as continuous and touch autofocus during video recording. It records video at up to 1080p at 60 fps and also supports slow-motion capture, though there is no optical image stabilization, no optical zoom, and no BSI sensor on the rear. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, panorama, and timelapse round out the shooting options; raw capture and manual shutter speed are not available. A single LED flash is present on the rear, with no dual-tone or RGB flash. On the front, there is a 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture — a single-lens setup without a front flash or an under-display placement — and HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are absent from both cameras.

The Oppo A3x 5G runs Android 14 and includes a solid set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. On the usability side, it supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page scrolling screenshots, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, a child lock, and an extra dim display mode. The device also features on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, device tracking, multi-user support, a battery health check, and the ability to play games while they download. Live Text for selecting text in images is included as well. Focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not supported, and OS updates do not arrive directly from the vendor.

The Oppo A3x 5G is equipped with a 5100 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 45W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is on hand to keep track of remaining charge, though wireless charging is not available on this device.

The Oppo A3x 5G includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack for wired audio and supports LDAC for higher-quality Bluetooth audio transmission, though aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless are not supported. The device has a single speaker rather than a stereo setup, and there is no built-in radio.

The Oppo A3x 5G supports 5G connectivity along with Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and accommodates two SIM cards simultaneously.
