One of its practical strengths is its IP65-rated water resistance, meaning it can withstand dust and low-pressure water jets without issue. It does not feature a rugged build, so while it handles everyday exposure to the elements, it is not designed for heavy-duty or harsh environments.

The Oppo A5 5G features a 6.67″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1604 px and a pixel density of 264 ppi, paired with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for fluid on-screen motion. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, offering a degree of resistance against scratches and accidental drops. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen present.

The Oppo A5 5G is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 2 x 2.4 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz, supported by big.LITTLE architecture and Heterogeneous Multi-Processing for efficient workload distribution across its 8 threads. It comes with 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz and 128 GB of internal storage, while the chip supports a maximum memory capacity of 12 GB and delivers a peak memory bandwidth of 17.07 GB/s.
