Oppo A5 (China)

The Oppo A5 (China) has a non-folding, non-rugged form factor measuring 161.6 mm tall, 74.5 mm wide, and 7.7 mm thick, with a total volume of 92.70 cm³ and a weight of 189 g. Its most notable design characteristic is its IP68-rated water resistance, meaning the device is certified to withstand water immersion under standard test conditions.

The Oppo A5 (China) features a 6.7″ OLED/AMOLED touch screen with a 1080 x 2412 px resolution and a pixel density of 394 ppi, producing a reasonably sharp image across its large panel. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 600 nits. It does not include branded damage-resistant glass, an Always-On Display mode, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen.

The Oppo A5 (China) is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a 4nm chipset with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 2.2 GHz and 4 x 1.8 GHz across 8 threads, supported by big.LITTLE and HMP technologies for workload distribution, and a 7W TDP. Graphics are handled by the integrated Adreno 710 GPU clocked at 800 MHz, with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, backed by 128 shading units. The chip includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and a 64-bit architecture. The device comes with 12GB of DDR5 RAM running at 2750 MHz across 2 memory channels, offering a maximum bandwidth of 22 GB/s, alongside 512GB of internal eMMC 5.1 storage. Cache is organized as 256 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 2 MB L3, and Geekbench 6 results stand at 943 for single-core and 2748 for multi-core workloads.

The Oppo A5 (China) features a dual-lens rear camera with 50MP and 2MP CMOS sensors at apertures of f/1.8 and f/2.4 respectively, capable of recording 4K video at 30fps with continuous autofocus during recording. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, though laser autofocus is absent, and there is no optical image stabilization. The rear system supports HDR mode, slow-motion video, timelapse, panorama, burst mode, and a range of manual controls covering exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while RAW capture and manual shutter speed are not available. A single LED flash is present, with no dual-tone or RGB flash. The front camera offers an 8MP single-lens sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and no front-facing flash, and it is not positioned under the display. The Oppo A5 (China) runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of privacy and usability features. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not present. The interface supports theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, and a media picker round out everyday usability. Notification permissions and customizable notifications are both available, as are full-page scrolling screenshots, Live Text, sharing intents, a child lock, and multi-user support. The device also features on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, device tracking, battery health check, and the ability to play games while they download. App offloading is supported, but Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, Quick Start, and the option to use the device as a PC are not included. OS updates do not arrive directly from the vendor.

The Oppo A5 (China) is equipped with a 6500 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 45W fast wired charging. Wireless charging is not available. A battery level indicator is present, giving users a clear view of remaining charge at a glance.

The Oppo A5 (China) includes stereo speakers but does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack or a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codec options are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC.

The Oppo A5 (China) supports 5G connectivity with download speeds up to 2900 Mbit/s and upload speeds up to 900 Mbit/s, and accommodates two SIM cards simultaneously. Wi-Fi covers both Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), while Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC are also on board. The USB Type-C port operates at USB 2.0 speeds, and there is no external memory slot, HDMI output, or DLNA certification. For navigation, the device includes GPS with Galileo support, alongside a compass, gyroscope, and accelerometer, though a barometer is absent. Biometric security is handled by a fingerprint scanner; 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present, and no stylus is included. The device lacks an infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, crash detection, satellite SOS, and any form of motion or optical tracking, and a built-in projector is not featured.

The Oppo A5 (China) includes a video light for illumination during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
