OPPO A5m

The OPPO A5m has a conventional, non-folding form factor measuring 165.7 mm tall, 76.2 mm wide, and just 8 mm thick, with a total volume of roughly 101 cm³ and a weight of 193 g. It carries an IP65 rating, meaning it is certified as dust-tight and resistant to low-pressure water jets, making it reasonably resilient in everyday wet conditions. The device does not feature a rugged build in the traditional reinforced sense, but the IP65 certification does provide a practical level of environmental protection for general use.

The OPPO A5m uses a 6.67″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1604 px and a pixel density of 264 ppi. The panel runs at a 90Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate for responsive input, and it supports HDR10 for compatible content, though HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are not supported. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and does not feature an Always-On Display mode or a secondary screen.

The OPPO A5m is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a 4 nm chipset with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 2.2 GHz and 4 x 1.8 GHz across 8 threads, supported by big.LITTLE and HMP technologies for efficient workload distribution. The SoC integrates an Adreno 710 GPU clocked at 800 MHz with 128 shading units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, while the chip also includes integrated LTE and ARM TrustZone security. The device ships with 8GB of DDR5 RAM running at 2750 MHz across 2 memory channels — with a maximum supported memory capacity of 12GB — paired with 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, a maximum memory bandwidth of 22 GB/s, and a TDP of 7W. Benchmark results place it at 943 in Geekbench 6 single-core, 2748 in multi-core, and 405,000 in AnTuTu. Cache configuration consists of 256 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 2 MB L3.

The OPPO A5m features a dual rear camera system comprising a 50 MP primary sensor at f/1.8 and a 2 MP secondary lens at f/2.4, both using BSI CMOS technology. The main camera includes optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is not present. It supports 4K video recording at 30 fps, slow-motion capture, and timelapse, but does not record in HDR10 or Dolby Vision, and RAW shooting is unavailable. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode and in-camera panoramas are also supported; manual shutter speed, however, is not available. The flash setup consists of four LED units without dual-tone or RGB configurations, and there is no front-facing flash. The 5 MP front camera sits behind a single f/2.2 lens — not an under-display or dual-lens arrangement — and has no dedicated front flash.

The OPPO A5m runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, among them clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, customizable notifications, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, and Live Text for selecting text from images. Productivity is further supported by offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, multi-user support, app offloading, phone tracking, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. On the other hand, focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not included. OS updates are not delivered directly by the vendor, and the platform is noted as free and open source.

The OPPO A5m houses a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery with a battery level indicator, and supports wired fast charging at 45W. The battery is non-removable, and neither wireless charging nor reverse wireless charging is available.

The OPPO A5m includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers for wired and built-in audio output. For wireless audio, it supports both aptX and LDAC, enabling higher-quality Bluetooth playback, though aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and aptX Lossless are not available. There is no built-in radio.

The OPPO A5m supports a dual-SIM cellular configuration with Wi-Fi 4, 5, and 6 (802.11n/ac/ax), Bluetooth 5, and NFC, though 5G is not available. It connects via USB Type-C at USB 2.0 speeds and offers an external memory slot for storage expansion, while HDMI output and DLNA certification are absent. Download speeds reach up to 2900 Mbit/s and upload up to 900 Mbit/s. The sensor set includes a fingerprint scanner, GPS with Galileo support, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, and an infrared sensor, while a barometer, heart rate monitor, iris scanner, and 3D facial recognition are not present. Crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, ANT+, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are likewise not featured, and no stylus is included.

The OPPO A5m includes a video light for use during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
