Oppo A5x (128GB / 6GB RAM)

The Oppo A5x has a standard, non-folding form factor measuring 165.7 mm tall, 76.2 mm wide, and 8 mm thick, with a total volume of 101.01 cm³ and a weight of 193 g. It carries an IP65 ingress protection rating, making it resistant to dust and low-pressure water jets, though it is not built to rugged standards.

The Oppo A5x features a 6.67″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1604 px and a pixel density of 264 ppi, running at a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and transitions. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, offering reliable resistance against everyday scratches and drops. HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Always-On Display are not supported, and there is no secondary screen.

The Oppo A5x is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a 4 nm 64-bit octa-core chipset with four cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four at 1.8 GHz, operating across 8 threads with big.LITTLE and HMP support and a TDP of 7W. It comes with 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 2750 MHz across two memory channels, offering a maximum memory bandwidth of 22 GB/s and support for up to 12 GB, alongside 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The integrated Adreno 710 GPU runs at 800 MHz with 128 shading units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, while the SoC also includes integrated LTE and ARM TrustZone security. Cache is organized as 256 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 2 MB L3, and the chipset posts Geekbench 6 scores of 943 single-core and 2748 multi-core.

The Oppo A5x features a single 32 MP CMOS rear camera with phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, continuous autofocus during video, and manual controls covering exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and manual shutter speed are absent. It captures video at 1080p 30 fps with slow-motion support, while HDR mode, burst shooting, timelapse, and in-camera panoramas are all available; HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not supported, nor is 3D capture or optical zoom. A single LED flash is present on the rear, but there is no dual-tone or RGB flash. On the front, a 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture handles selfies — it is a single-lens unit with no front flash and is not positioned under the display — and raw file output is not available on either camera.

The Oppo A5x runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. Usability features are well-covered, with dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, Live Text, and the ability to play games while they download. The system supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, multi-user accounts, device tracking, a child lock, app offloading, and battery health checking. OS updates do not come directly from the vendor, and Quick Start, focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, and PC mode are not supported.

The Oppo A5x is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery with a visible charge level indicator. It supports 45W fast charging, allowing for quicker top-ups via cable, though wireless charging is not available.

The Oppo A5x features stereo speakers and supports aptX Bluetooth audio, though higher-tier codecs such as aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are not available. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.

The Oppo A5x supports 4G cellular connectivity with download speeds up to 2900 Mbits/s and upload speeds up to 900 Mbits/s, but does not include 5G. It accommodates two SIM cards and offers Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), along with Bluetooth 5.0 and a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0. An external memory slot is available for expandable storage. On the sensor and navigation side, the device includes GPS with Galileo support, a compass, an accelerometer, an infrared sensor, and a fingerprint scanner, while a gyroscope, barometer, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are absent. NFC, HDMI output, ANT+, DLNA certification, 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, satellite SOS, crash detection, and a built-in projector are not featured, and no stylus is included.

The Oppo A5x includes a video light for illuminating footage during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel is used.
