A standout aspect of its build is the IP68 rating, which certifies it as waterproof and capable of withstanding submersion at depths of up to 1.5 meters. It does not feature a rugged construction, but the IP68 certification still provides meaningful protection against water exposure in everyday situations.

The Oppo A6s 5G features a 6.75″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1570 px and a pixel density of 256 ppi. It supports a 120 Hz refresh rate paired with a 240 Hz touch sampling rate for responsive input, and reaches a typical brightness of 900 nits. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Always-On Display functionality. There is no secondary screen on this device.

The Oppo A6s 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 2 x 2.4 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz, supported by big.LITTLE architecture, Heterogeneous Multi-Processing, and 8 threads with multithreading enabled. It comes with 8 GB of LPDDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz — expandable up to a maximum of 12 GB — and 256 GB of internal storage, while memory bandwidth reaches 17.07 GB/s. The integrated Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU runs at 950 MHz and supports DirectX 12, and the chip also includes integrated LTE. Cache consists of 512 KB L1, 1 MB L2, and 2 MB L3. In Geekbench 6 benchmarks, the device scores 782 in single-core and 2012 in multi-core tests, and it fully supports 64-bit processing.

The Oppo A6s 5G has a single-lens rear camera with a 50 MP CMOS sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, capable of recording video at 1080p and 60 fps with continuous autofocus during recording and slow-motion support, though optical image stabilization and optical zoom are not available. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, while manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance — though manual shutter speed is absent. The rear camera also supports HDR mode, burst shooting, in-camera panoramas, and timelapse, and is backed by a single LED flash with no dual-tone or RGB configuration. RAW capture, laser autofocus, 360-degree panorama, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D photo or video are not supported. The Oppo A6s 5G runs Android 15 as a free and open-source platform, offering a broad set of privacy controls including clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking — though cross-site tracking blocking, Mail Privacy Protection, and Wi-Fi password sharing are not available. On the customization side, it supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, and customizable notifications, while focus modes and Quick Start are absent. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, Live Text, app offloading, and the ability to play games while they download. The device also supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, multi-user accounts, a child lock, battery health check, and an extra dim mode, though it cannot be used as a PC and does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor.

The Oppo A6s 5G is equipped with a 7000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 80W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not supported.

The Oppo A6s 5G has stereo speakers and supports aptX HD for higher-quality Bluetooth audio, but does not include aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.

The Oppo A6s 5G includes a video light for use during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology.
