Oukitel WP28 S

The Oukitel WP28 S features a rugged, non-folding build with an IP68 ingress protection rating, confirming full waterproof capability. It measures 174.2 mm in height, 82.3 mm in width, and 17.4 mm in thickness, with a total volume of approximately 249.46 cm³. The device weighs 373 g, which is consistent with the reinforced construction typical of phones engineered to endure tough physical conditions.

The Oukitel WP28 S uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.52 inches, delivering a resolution of 720 x 1600 px at a pixel density of 269 ppi. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, offering resistance against everyday scratches and impacts. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen.

The Oukitel WP28 S is driven by the Unisoc T606 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an 8-thread CPU running at 2 x 1.6 GHz and 6 x 1.6 GHz, supported by big.LITTLE architecture and HMP for workload distribution. It comes with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM at 1600 MHz and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 14 GB. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 MP1 GPU clocked at 650 MHz with 64 shading units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. The chipset includes integrated LTE and TrustZone security, and carries a maximum memory bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s alongside L1, L2, and L3 caches of 128 KB, 2 MB, and 1 MB respectively. Benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 251,500, a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 1,391, and a PassMark result of 2,663, with a TDP of 10W.

The Oukitel WP28 S features a single-lens 13 MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a CMOS sensor, capable of recording video at 1080p and 30 fps with continuous autofocus during recording. It supports phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, HDR mode, burst shooting, panorama, slow-motion video, and a range of manual controls including exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though optical image stabilization, optical zoom, laser autofocus, manual shutter speed, and RAW capture are not available. The rear camera is backed by a single LED flash, with no dual-tone or RGB flash present. On the front, a 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture handles selfies, though it lacks a front-facing flash and is not housed under the display. Neither HDR10 nor Dolby Vision recording is supported, and 3D or 360-degree capture is absent from both cameras.

The Oukitel WP28 S runs Android 14, an open-source platform that supports multi-user operation, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, dynamic theming, dark mode, and theme customization. Privacy features include clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are absent. The OS offers customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page screenshots, Live Text, an extra dim mode, battery health check, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device position tracking. Games can be played while downloading, and on-device machine learning is supported. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not available, and the device does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor.

The Oukitel WP28 S houses a 10600 mAh rechargeable battery with a built-in level indicator, and comes bundled with a charger in the box. It supports 18W fast charging, though wireless charging is not available. The battery is sealed and non-removable.

The Oukitel WP28 S includes a built-in radio but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codecs are supported, with aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC all absent.

The Oukitel WP28 S supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC, while 5G is not available. Wired connectivity is handled through a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, with download and upload speeds reaching 300 Mbits/s and 100 Mbits/s respectively; HDMI output is not present. Location is covered by GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors include an accelerometer and compass, while a gyroscope, barometer, infrared sensor, and heart rate monitor are all absent. The device includes a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, but does not support 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, ANT+, DLNA, motion or optical tracking, crash detection, satellite SOS, or a built-in projector, and no stylus is included.

The Oukitel WP28 S features a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat and conventional — neither curved nor based on e-paper technology. The screen does not use sapphire glass.
