The Portronics SoundPot has a volume of 1134 cm³ and weighs 515 g, with dimensions of 140 mm in height and 90 mm in both width and thickness. It houses a single driver and features a water-resistant build, making it reasonably suited for use in damp or outdoor conditions. The control panel is placed directly on the device for convenient access, while the speaker does not include a neodymium magnet, touch screen, RGB lighting, detachable cable, remote control, or travel bag.
The SoundPot delivers audio through a single 20W driver, operating in mono rather than stereo, as it does not feature stereo speakers. There is no subwoofer present, and the built-in microphone does not include noise cancellation.
The SoundPot is equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery that provides up to 6 hours of playback, and a battery level indicator lets users keep track of remaining charge at a glance. The battery is not removable, and the speaker does not support wireless charging, so recharging is done via a wired connection.
The SoundPot connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m, though it does not support NFC pairing, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, AirPlay, Chromecast, Auracast, or Bluetooth LE Audio. No advanced audio codecs are available, as aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, aptX Low Latency, LDAC, and AAC are all absent. On the wired side, the speaker includes two USB ports and a USB Type-C connection, but lacks a 3.5 mm audio jack socket, an AUX input, a 3.5 mm male connector, a microphone input, and an external memory slot. DLNA certification is also not present.
The SoundPot can be used wirelessly and supports remote smartphone control, allowing basic playback management from a paired device. It includes voice prompts for audio feedback and a sleep timer for scheduled shutoff. Fast pairing, voice commands, a mute function, and radio are not available, and the speaker cannot function as a power bank.
The SoundPot supports stereo pairing, allowing two compatible units to be linked together for stereo sound playback.
