The QCY MeloBuds Neo feature a true wireless, in-ear design with no cables or neckband, and stereo speakers are built into both earbuds. A display is present on the charging case for at-a-glance status checks. The earbuds carry an IPX5 rating, making them sweat resistant and suitable for active use. Wingtips are not included, and there is no RGB lighting or UV light functionality.
The MeloBuds Neo use a 10 mm driver unit and cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Passive noise reduction is provided through the in-ear fit, though active noise cancellation is not supported. The earbuds do not include a neodymium magnet, and there is no support for spatial audio, Dolby Atmos, or Dirac Virtuo processing.
Each earbud holds a 45 mAh rechargeable battery rated for 7 hours of playback, while the 350 mAh charging case contributes an additional 17 hours, bringing the combined total to 24 hours. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, and a battery level indicator is on hand to keep track of remaining power. Wireless charging and solar power are not supported.
The MeloBuds Neo connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 meters and an audio latency of 68 ms. The earbuds do not support fast pairing, NFC pairing, AAC, LDAC, LDHC, or any variant of aptX, including aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice. Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are also absent. For wired charging, a USB Type-C port is provided.
The MeloBuds Neo support multipoint connectivity for up to two devices simultaneously and can be used as a headset, with a mute function and on-device touch controls available during calls. Fast charging is supported, and voice prompts provide audio feedback for various earbud actions. A travel bag is included in the package. The earbuds do not offer ambient sound mode, in-ear detection for auto-pause, a find-device feature, notification readout, in-line controls, a body temperature sensor, or a camera remote shutter function.
The MeloBuds Neo are equipped with four microphones alongside noise-canceling microphone technology, aimed at reducing unwanted background sound during calls and voice use.
