Realme 16 5G

The Realme 16 5G has a non-folding, non-rugged build measuring 158.3 mm tall, 75.1 mm wide, and 8.1 mm thick, with a total volume of 96.30 cm³ and a weight of 183 g. It carries an IP68 rating, confirming full waterproof protection with a rated submersion depth of 0.5 m, making it resistant to water ingress under standard conditions.

The Realme 16 5G features a 6.57″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2372 px and a pixel density of 397 ppi, delivering a sharp and vibrant visual experience. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 1000 nits, while Always-On Display functionality is supported. It is protected by branded damage-resistant glass and has no secondary screen. HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision are not supported.

The Realme 16 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 2 x 2.5 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE technology and multithreading support. It comes with 12 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz and 256 GB of internal storage, backed by a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s. Graphics are handled by the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU clocked at 950 MHz, which supports integrated graphics, DirectX 12, and a single display output. The SoC also integrates LTE, supports 64-bit processing, and is fully compatible with modern software environments.

The Realme 16 5G features a single-lens 50 MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a CMOS sensor with a pixel size of 0.6 µm, and no optical image stabilization or BSI sensor. Autofocus options include phase-detection, laser, and touch autofocus, along with continuous autofocus during video recording. The main camera supports 1080p video at 30 fps with slow-motion recording, while HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not available. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed and RAW shooting are absent; additional shooting modes include burst, panorama, and timelapse. A single LED flash is present, with no dual-tone or RGB flash. The 50 MP front camera sits at f/2.4 and is a single-lens setup with no under-display placement and no front-facing flash, and 3D or 360-degree capture is not supported on either camera.

The Realme 16 5G runs Android 16, an open-source platform that supports multi-user operation, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. Privacy features include clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are absent. Personalization options cover dark mode, dynamic theming, and theme customization, while practical tools such as full-page screenshots, Live Text, a media picker, customizable notifications, notification permissions, an extra dim mode, battery health check, app offloading, offline voice recognition, voice commands, and device tracking are all present. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not supported, and focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, and Quick Start are also unavailable. On-device machine learning is built in, and a child lock adds an additional layer of parental control.

The Realme 16 5G is equipped with a 7000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 60W fast wired charging and includes a battery level indicator. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not available.

The Realme 16 5G features stereo speakers and supports aptX HD for higher-quality Bluetooth audio, while standard aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are not available. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack and no built-in radio.

The Realme 16 5G supports 5G connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, with a maximum download speed of 3300 MBits/s. It accommodates two SIM cards and includes an external memory slot for expandable storage. The USB Type-C port operates at USB 2.0, and there is no HDMI output. Sensors on board include a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, GPS with Galileo support, and an infrared sensor, while a barometer, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, 3D facial recognition, iris scanner, and motion or optical tracking are all absent. Crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, DLNA certification, a stylus, and a built-in projector are likewise not featured.

The Realme 16 5G includes a video light for recording in low-light conditions, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
