Realme 16 Pro Plus

The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G has a non-folding, non-rugged body that measures 162.5 mm tall, 76.3 mm wide, and 8.5 mm thick, with a total volume of 105.39 cm³ and a weight of 203 g. It carries an IP68 ingress protection rating, certifying it as waterproof at depths of up to 2 metres.

The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G features a 6.8″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 2800 px and a pixel density of 453 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed image. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 1800 nits, while Always-On Display is available for at-a-glance information. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. There is no secondary screen.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 system-on-chip, built on a 4 nm process with a CPU configuration of 1 x 2.8 GHz, 4 x 2.4 GHz, and 3 x 1.8 GHz cores, employing big.LITTLE technology and multithreading for workload distribution. It is paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 4200 MHz and 256 GB of internal storage, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 33.6 GB/s. The integrated GPU runs at 1000 MHz and supports DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, while the chip also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and a 6W TDP. The platform is fully 64-bit compatible.

The rear camera system consists of three CMOS sensors at 200 MP, 50 MP, and 8 MP, supported by optical image stabilization, 3.5x optical zoom, and two flash LEDs that are not dual-tone or RGB. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is not present. Video capture reaches up to 2160p at 60 fps with slow-motion recording available, while HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not supported. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed and RAW shooting are absent; additional shooting modes include burst, panorama, and timelapse. The front camera is a single-lens 50 MP unit with an f/2.4 aperture, no front-facing flash, and is positioned conventionally rather than under the display. 360-degree panorama, 3D capture, and Dolby Vision or HDR10 recording are not part of the camera feature set.

The device runs Android 16 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. On the usability side, it supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, a media picker, sharing intents, customizable notifications, and an extra dim mode. It also offers on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, multi-user support, app offloading, battery health checking, a child lock, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. OS updates do not come directly from the vendor, and the device does not support Quick Start, Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, or use as a PC. Phone tracking is supported, and the platform is free and open source.

The Realme 16 Pro+ 5G houses a 7000 mAh rechargeable battery that is not removable, and comes bundled with a charger in the box. It supports 80W wired fast charging and includes a battery level indicator, though wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not available.

The device features stereo speakers for playback but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack and has no built-in radio. For wireless audio, it supports aptX HD, while aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are not available.

The device supports 5G connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with Wi-Fi coverage across Wi-Fi 4, 5, and 6 (802.11n/ac/ax) standards. Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC are both present, while the USB Type-C port operates at USB 2.0 speeds, and there is no external memory slot, HDMI output, or DLNA certification. Biometric security is handled by a fingerprint scanner; 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not included, and no stylus is bundled. On-board sensors include a gyroscope, accelerometer, GPS, compass, and Galileo satellite support, whereas a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and ANT+ are absent. Crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are not part of the feature set.

The device includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
