Realme C85 4G

The Realme C85 4G has a fixed, non-folding form factor standing 166.1 mm tall, 77.9 mm wide, and 8.4 mm thick, with a total volume of 108.69 cm³ and a weight of 215 g. A standout aspect of its physical build is the IP69 ingress protection rating, which certifies the device as waterproof down to a depth of 6 metres. Despite this water resistance capability, the phone does not feature a rugged construction in the traditional sense.

The Realme C85 4G features a 6.8″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1570 px and a pixel density of 254 ppi, paired with a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision content formats. There is no Always-On Display mode and no secondary screen, keeping the panel configuration straightforward.

The Realme C85 4G is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G, a 6 nm SoC with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 2.8 GHz and 4 x 1.9 GHz using big.LITTLE technology, backed by 8 threads and integrated LTE. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 610 GPU clocked at 1260 MHz, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, with integrated graphics on-chip. The device ships with 8GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz — expandable up to a maximum of 16GB — alongside 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage and a maximum memory bandwidth of 17 GB/s. Benchmark results place it at 473 single-core and 1510 multi-core in Geekbench 6, and 442 single-core and 1787 multi-core in Geekbench 5. The chipset also supports 64-bit processing, NX bit, and ARM TrustZone for hardware-level security.

The Realme C85 4G carries a single-lens rear camera with a 50 MP CMOS sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, capable of recording video at 1080p and 60 fps with continuous autofocus during recording and slow-motion support. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch AF, though laser autofocus is absent, and there is no optical image stabilization or optical zoom. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, and timelapse; the camera does not shoot in RAW format and lacks manual shutter speed control. The Realme C85 4G runs Android 15 as a free and open-source platform, bringing a broad set of privacy and usability features to the table. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy controls, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not included. Customization options span dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, and customizable notifications, while productivity is supported through split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, Live Text, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. The device also supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, multi-user accounts, a child lock, app offloading, battery health checks, an extra dim display mode, and phone position tracking. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not available, and the Quick Start and focus modes features are absent.

The Realme C85 4G houses a 7000 mAh non-removable rechargeable battery, paired with 45W wired fast charging — and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for at-a-glance monitoring. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not supported.

The Realme C85 4G has a notably limited audio feature set — it lacks a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, offering only a single speaker configuration. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codec standards are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC. There is also no built-in radio receiver.

The Realme C85 4G supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, and a cellular module, though 5G is not available. Location capabilities include GPS, Galileo, and a compass, while an accelerometer is also on board; however, a gyroscope, barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and motion or optical tracking are all absent. Biometric security is covered by a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not featured. NFC, ANT+, satellite SOS, crash detection, and a built-in projector are likewise unavailable, and no stylus is included.

The Realme C85 4G includes a video light for illumination during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
