It does not feature a rugged build, nor does it carry any water resistance rating. At a volume of roughly 103.46 cm³, the handset sits in a fairly standard footprint for a large-screen device of its class.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 features a 6.7-inch LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px and a pixel density of 262 ppi, delivering a reasonably sized viewing area for everyday use. The panel operates at a standard 60Hz refresh rate and does not include an Always-On Display mode, branded damage-resistant glass, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision. There is no secondary screen present on this device.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an octa-core CPU running at up to 2 GHz across two performance cores and 1.8 GHz across six efficiency cores, using big.LITTLE technology for workload management. It comes with 6 GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 1800 MHz and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 8 GB and a peak memory bandwidth of 13.41 GB/s across two memory channels. Graphics are handled by the Mali G52 MC2 GPU running at 1000 MHz, with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2, while benchmark results sit at 225,154 on AnTuTu, 424 single-core and 1,322 multi-core on Geekbench 6. The SoC also integrates LTE, supports 64-bit processing, includes TrustZone security, and has a thermal design power rating of 5W.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 features a dual-lens rear camera system with a 50 MP main sensor at f/1.8 and a 2 MP secondary lens at f/2.4, both using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination or optical image stabilization. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is absent. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, slow-motion video, and in-camera panoramas are all supported; however, raw capture, manual shutter speed, and 360-degree panorama shooting are not available. The main camera records video at 1080p and 60 fps but does not support HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording, and there is no optical zoom. A single LED flash is present on the rear, with no dual-tone or RGB flash option. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera sits at f/2.0 without a front-facing flash or under-display placement, and the device has no 3D photo or video capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 ships with Android 15 and brings a solid range of privacy and usability features to the table. On the privacy side, it includes clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not present. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, and full-page scrolling screenshots, while focus modes and Quick Start are absent. Practical tools include a media picker, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, an extra dim mode, a battery health check, offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, app offloading, Live Text, sharing intents, a child lock, multi-user support, and device position tracking. Wi-Fi password sharing and the ability to use the device as a PC are not supported, and OS updates do not come directly from the vendor. The platform is free and open source.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 25W wired fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. Wireless charging is not available. The device features a battery level indicator, making it straightforward to keep track of remaining charge.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a built-in FM radio, offering a couple of traditional audio conveniences that are increasingly rare on modern handsets. It does not feature stereo speakers, and none of the advanced Bluetooth audio codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 supports dual SIM cards and connects via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), alongside Bluetooth 5.3 and a cellular module, though 5G is not available. It uses a USB Type-C port running on USB 2.0 and offers an external memory slot for storage expansion. Navigation is covered by GPS with Galileo support, and the device also includes a compass and accelerometer, while a gyroscope, barometer, and motion or optical tracking are absent. The fingerprint scanner handles biometric security, as 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. Download speeds reach up to 300 Mbits/s and upload up to 100 Mbits/s. NFC, HDMI output, infrared sensor, ANT+, a heart rate monitor, DLNA certification, satellite SOS, crash detection, a stylus, and a built-in projector are all absent from this device.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 includes a video light, which assists with recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, and the device does not feature sapphire glass protection or an e-paper display.
