It carries an IP68 waterproof rating, providing reliable protection against water and dust ingress under defined conditions. The device does not feature a rugged build.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 uses a 6.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 px and a pixel density of 416 ppi. Typical brightness is rated at 1200 nits with a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, and the display supports both HDR10 and HDR10+, while Dolby Vision is not available. The panel runs at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and an Always-On Display mode is supported. Screen protection is handled by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and there is no secondary screen present.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 is powered by the Samsung Exynos 2400 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with a 10-thread CPU spread across four clusters running at 1 x 3.2, 2 x 2.9, 3 x 2.6, and 4 x 2.0 GHz, using big.LITTLE technology with HMP and multithreading support, and a thermal design power of 6W. It is paired with 8 GB of DDR5 RAM at 4200 MHz, a maximum supported memory of 24 GB, a peak memory bandwidth of 64 GB/s, and 512 GB of internal storage. The integrated Xclipse 940 GPU runs at 1009 MHz, supporting DirectX 12, alongside TrustZone security and integrated LTE on the same chip. Benchmark results show an AnTuTu score of 1,639,690, Geekbench 6 scores of 2,193 single-core and 6,920 multi-core, a PCMark Work 3.0 performance result of 17,276 with a battery endurance score of 803 minutes, and 3DMark Wild Life scores of 13,154 standard and 3,366 in the Extreme tier.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 features a triple-lens rear camera system with a 50 MP main sensor at f/1.8 (1 µm pixels), a 12 MP ultrawide at f/2.2 (1.4 µm pixels), and a 10 MP telephoto at f/2.4 (1 µm pixels), all using BSI CMOS sensors with optical image stabilization and 3x optical zoom. Autofocus covers phase-detection and touch autofocus along with continuous autofocus during video, while laser autofocus is not available. Manual controls include exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, with RAW capture, HDR, burst mode, panorama, slow-motion video, timelapse, and HDR10 video recording all supported, while manual shutter speed and 360° panorama are absent. Video recording reaches up to 4320p at 30 fps. A single dual-tone LED flash is fitted at the rear with no RGB option. The front camera is a single 12 MP sensor at f/2.2 without a front-facing flash or secondary lens, and the overall camera system holds a DxOMark Mobile score of 133.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 runs Android 14, an open-source platform with multi-user support, on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, and voice commands. Privacy tools include clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access controls, while Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. The interface supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, sharing intents, widgets, and split-screen multitasking. It can also function as a PC, and further features include Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, a child lock, battery health check, phone tracking, and the ability to play games while they download. Focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, and Quick Start are absent, and OS updates are not distributed directly by the vendor, meaning software updates go through the manufacturer's own release channel.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 houses a 4000 mAh non-removable rechargeable battery with support for 25W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging, which allows it to top up other compatible devices wirelessly. An ultra power-saving mode and a battery level indicator are both present, while no charger is included in the box.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 includes stereo speakers and a triple-microphone setup, but does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the wireless audio side, it supports LDAC for high-resolution Bluetooth audio, while aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive are not available. There is no built-in radio.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 has a flat display with no curved edges, and the screen uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology. A video light is present for use during video recording.
