Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is a foldable smartphone with a foldable form factor that measures 165.1 mm in height, 71.9 mm in width, and just 6.9 mm in thickness when open, weighing 187 g in total. It carries an IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning it is rated to withstand submersion in water. The device also holds a French Repairability Index score of 8 out of 10, indicating a relatively high assessed repairability for this type of device.

The main display is a 6.7-inch OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2640 px, a pixel density of 426 ppi, and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and motion. Brightness is rated at 2,600 nits, and the screen supports both HDR10 and HDR10+ for compatible content. Always-On Display is available, and a secondary screen is present on the outer cover for use when the phone is folded. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a 4 nm chipset with an 8-thread CPU configuration running across four clock speed clusters topping out at 3.3 GHz, paired with an Adreno 750 GPU clocked at 900 MHz. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 4,800 MHz and 512GB of internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 24GB and a peak memory bandwidth of 76.6 GB/s across two memory channels. The chipset supports 64-bit processing, big.LITTLE technology, HMP, TrustZone, integrated LTE, and integrated graphics, with API support including DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenVG 1.2, and OpenCL 2. Benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 1,852,243, Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core scores of 2,213 and 7,325 respectively, a 3DMark Wild Life score of 15,990, and a PCMark Work 3.0 performance score of 17,632 with a battery benchmark result of 744 minutes. The chip has a TDP of 12.5W, an L2 cache of 1 MB, and an L3 cache of 12 MB.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 features a dual rear camera system with a 50MP lens at f/1.8 and a 12MP lens at f/2.2, both backed by a BSI CMOS sensor and optical image stabilization. Video recording reaches up to 4K at 60fps, and the camera supports continuous autofocus during recording, phase-detection autofocus for stills, touch autofocus, slow-motion video, timelapse, HDR mode, burst mode, panorama, and RAW capture. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, giving users a reasonable degree of hands-on control over their shots. A single LED flash is present on the rear — there is no dual-tone or RGB flash — and the front camera is a single 10MP lens at f/2.2 with no dedicated flash and no secondary front-facing lens.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering location access, camera and microphone permissions, clipboard warnings, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. On the usability side, the OS supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, customizable notifications, and the ability to play games while they download. On-device machine learning is supported alongside offline voice recognition, voice commands, live text selection from images, a battery health check tool, an extra dim display mode, child lock, multi-user support, and device tracking. OS updates do not come directly from the vendor, and the device does not support Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, or app offloading.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is equipped with a 4,000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports fast wired charging at 25W and wireless charging at 15W. It also features reverse wireless charging at 4.5W, allowing it to top up other compatible devices wirelessly. A battery level indicator is built in, while the battery itself is not removable.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 includes stereo speakers but does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so wired audio requires an adapter or USB-C headphones. The device does not support aptX Bluetooth audio codec, and there is no built-in radio tuner.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 supports 5G connectivity and is compatible with Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, and 7, alongside Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. It accommodates one physical SIM and one eSIM, and connects via a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0. Download speeds reach up to 10,000 Mbits/s and upload up to 3,500 Mbits/s. On the sensor side, the device includes a fingerprint scanner, GPS with Galileo support, a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, and barometer. It does not feature an infrared sensor, iris scanner, 3D facial recognition, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, external memory expansion, motion or optical tracking, or a built-in projector, and no stylus is included.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 includes a video light for use during video recording, but does not feature a sapphire glass display or an e-paper secondary display.
