The Sapphire Edge AI follows a Mini-ITX form factor, measuring 117 mm wide, 30 mm tall, and 111 mm thick, resulting in a compact total volume of 389.61 cm³. Storage is provided by a 2000GB NVMe SSD, offering fast flash-based access within this space-efficient chassis.
The processor runs at a base speed of 12 x 2 GHz with a turbo clock speed reaching 5.1GHz, supported by 24 threads and multithreading for handling parallel workloads. It carries a 28W TDP and a maximum operating temperature of 100°C, with a clock multiplier of 20 that is locked rather than unlocked. Cache memory consists of 12 MB of L2 (1 MB/core) and 24 MB of L3 cache (2 MB/core), and the CPU supports 64-bit processing alongside integrated graphics. The multiplier is fixed, so manual frequency adjustments beyond the standard turbo behavior are not available.
The integrated GPU operates at a base clock of 800 MHz with a turbo frequency of 2900 MHz, built on a 4nm semiconductor process. It features 1024 shading units, 64 texture mapping units, and 32 render output units, with PCIe 4 connectivity. API support covers DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 2.1, and the GPU is capable of driving up to four displays simultaneously.
The system is equipped with 96GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MHz, providing a substantial memory capacity alongside the bandwidth characteristics associated with the DDR5 standard.
Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with backwards compatibility for Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4, complemented by Bluetooth 5.2. The wired port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB 4 40Gbps ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and one USB 2.0 port, while USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, and USB-C variants below USB 4 are absent. Display output is covered by two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort, and the unit also provides a single RJ45 port for wired networking and a 3.5mm audio jack. A VGA connector and S/PDIF output are not included.
In benchmark testing, the processor recorded a PassMark multi-threaded score of 35,142 alongside a single-threaded score of 3,872. Geekbench 6 results show a multi-core score of 13,283 and a single-core score of 2,593, providing a reference point for both parallel and single-threaded processing throughput.
The CPU is suited for both laptop and desktop configurations and does not use big.LITTLE technology. It supports a range of instruction sets including MMX, F16C, FMA3, AES, AVX, AVX2, SSE 4.1, and SSE 4.2, and includes NX bit support for hardware-level memory protection. The integrated Radeon 890M GPU carries 16 execution units. Memory is capped at 96GB across two channels, with a maximum supported RAM speed of 7500 MHz, though ECC memory is not supported and there is no external memory slot. The unit does not use flash storage and comes with a 2-year warranty.
