The Sapphire Pure B850A Wi-Fi 7 is built around the AM5 socket with B850 chipset compatibility, housed in a standard ATX form factor measuring 305 mm wide and 244 mm tall. It supports a single CPU and carries no integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity spans Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), complemented by Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX audio codec support is not included. The board features RGB lighting and offers easy overclocking, while BIOS reset via a dedicated clear CMOS button is not available, and there is no dual BIOS configuration. It does not support easy BIOS reset through a physical button, and a dual BIOS setup is absent. The board ships with a 3-year warranty.
This motherboard supports DDR5 memory across four slots arranged in a dual-channel configuration, with a maximum total capacity of 256GB. Overclocked RAM speeds can reach up to 8000 MHz, offering flexibility for performance-oriented builds. ECC memory is not supported.
The rear I/O panel provides a total of eight USB ports: three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, alongside four USB 2.0 ports. Higher-bandwidth options such as USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, USB 4, Thunderbolt 3, and Thunderbolt 4 are not available. Video output is handled by an HDMI port and one DisplayPort output, while VGA and DVI connectors are absent. Networking is covered by a single RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports present.
For internal expansion, the board offers two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers and two USB 2.0 headers, while Gen 2, Gen 2x2, and USB-C Gen 2 expansion connectors are not present. Storage connectivity includes four SATA 3 connectors and three M.2 sockets, with no SATA 2, U.2, or mSATA options available. A TPM connector is also absent from the board's internal header layout.
The board's expansion slot configuration centers on a single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the primary graphics card, paired with one PCIe x4 slot for additional expansion needs. There are no PCIe x1, x8, PCIe 2.0 x16, PCIe 3.0 x16, or legacy PCI slots present, keeping the layout straightforward and focused.
The onboard audio supports 7.1-channel output and is equipped with six audio connectors for a full analog surround setup. An S/PDIF optical output port is not included.
The board does not support RAID 0+1 storage configuration.
