The Sapphire Pure X870A Wi-Fi 7 is built around the AM5 socket with X870 chipset compatibility and follows the standard ATX form factor, measuring 305 mm wide and 245 mm tall. It supports a single CPU and does not include an integrated processor or integrated graphics. Wireless connectivity covers Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) alongside Bluetooth 5.4, though aptX audio codec support is absent. The board includes RGB lighting and is noted for easy overclocking, while BIOS reset via a dedicated clear CMOS button and a dual BIOS setup are not available. There is no integrated graphics output, and the board carries a three-year warranty.
The board features four DDR5 memory slots arranged across two channels, supporting a maximum capacity of 256GB. Overclocked RAM speeds can reach up to 8400 MHz, giving users meaningful headroom for performance tuning. ECC memory is not supported on this board.
The rear I/O offers a varied USB lineup consisting of one USB 4 40Gbps port, one Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and two USB 2.0 ports; there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Gen 1 Type-C ports, no USB 4 20Gbps port, and no Thunderbolt 3 port. USB Type-C is present on the board. Display outputs include one HDMI and one DisplayPort, while DVI and VGA connectors are absent. Networking is handled by a single RJ45 port, and there are no eSATA or PS/2 ports.
For internal expansion, the board provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 headers and one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 header, along with four USB 2.0 headers; there are no USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Gen 2x2 expansion connectors. Storage connectivity includes three M.2 sockets and four SATA 3 connectors, while SATA 2, U.2, and mSATA are not present. A TPM connector is not included on this board.
The board offers three expansion slots in total: one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the primary graphics card or high-bandwidth add-in cards, one PCIe x4 slot, and one PCIe x1 slot. There are no PCIe 2.0 x16, PCIe 3.0 x16, PCIe x8, or legacy PCI slots present.
The onboard audio solution supports 7.1-channel output and provides six audio connectors on the rear I/O. An S/PDIF Out port is not included on this board.
The board supports RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 (1+0) configurations, covering the most common redundancy and performance setups. RAID 0+1 is not supported.
