The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro features a 6.7″ LCD IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 px and a pixel density of 513 ppi, delivering a sharp visual experience. Its 240Hz refresh rate allows for notably smooth on-screen motion, while support for both HDR10 and HDR10+ enables compatible content to be displayed with a wider range of brightness and contrast. Dolby Vision and Always-On Display are not supported, and there is no secondary screen or branded damage-resistant glass present.

The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with a multi-core CPU configuration running at 1 x 3, 4 x 2.8, and 3 x 2 GHz, supported by big.LITTLE technology and multithreading, with a TDP of 12.5W. It is paired with 12 GB of DDR5 RAM clocked at 4800 MHz and 512 GB of internal storage, while the platform supports a maximum memory amount of 24 GB and a peak memory bandwidth of 64 GB/s. Graphics are handled by the integrated Adreno 735 GPU, which runs at 1100 MHz, features 3 execution units, supports one display output, and is compatible with DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.3, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenVG 1.2, and OpenCL 2. The chipset also includes integrated LTE, ARM TrustZone, and 64-bit support, with an L2 cache of 1 MB and an L3 cache of 8 MB. Benchmark results show an AnTuTu score of 1,530,662, a Geekbench 6 single-core score of 2,019, and a multi-core score of 5,570.

The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro features a triple-lens rear camera system, with each of the three CMOS sensors resolving 50.3 MP at apertures of f/1.8, f/2.6, and f/2.2 respectively, alongside optical image stabilization and 2.8x optical zoom. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is not available. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, timelapse, slow-motion video, and in-camera panoramas are all supported; manual shutter speed, RAW capture, 360-degree panorama, HDR10 recording, and Dolby Vision recording are not included. A standard flash is present on the rear, but there is no dual-tone or RGB LED flash. The 50.3 MP single-lens front camera sits at f/2.2 and is positioned conventionally — not under the display — and has no front-facing flash, with the front setup limited to a single lens.

The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro runs Android 14, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user operation, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. Privacy-related features include clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not present. Customization options extend to theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while notification controls and customizable notifications give users further flexibility over how alerts are managed. Additional capabilities include on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, full-page screenshots, a media picker, battery health check, child lock, and device position tracking. Focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, Quick Start, direct OS vendor updates, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not supported.

The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro houses a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery with a built-in battery level indicator, but it is sealed into the device and cannot be removed. Wireless charging is not supported, so the battery must be replenished through a wired connection.

The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro has a notably limited audio feature set — it lacks a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, and offers no radio functionality. On the wireless audio side, none of the Qualcomm codec options are present, with no support for aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC.

The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro supports 5G cellular connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with download speeds of up to 10,000 Mbits/s and upload speeds of up to 3,500 Mbits/s. Wi-Fi coverage spans four standards — Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) — while Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC are also on board. The device connects via USB Type-C and includes an external memory slot for storage expansion. For navigation and positioning, it offers GPS with Galileo support, and its onboard sensors include a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass. A fingerprint scanner handles biometric authentication, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are absent, and no stylus is included. Features such as satellite emergency SOS, crash detection, DLNA certification, ANT+, a heart rate monitor, an infrared sensor, a barometer, HDMI output, a built-in projector, and motion or optical tracking are not present.

The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro includes a video light, which can assist when recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, and the device uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper screen.
