The Soundpeats GoFree2 adopt an open-ear fit, meaning they rest outside the ear canal rather than sealing inside it, and wingtips are included to help maintain a stable position during use. They are true wireless earbuds with no cables or neckband, and stereo speakers are present in both units. Weighing just 17 g, the overall build stays light, while an IPX5 ingress protection rating means the earbuds can handle sweat and moisture exposure without issue.
The GoFree2 use a 16.2 mm driver unit and cover a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Neither active noise cancellation nor passive noise reduction is present, which is consistent with the open-ear design, and the drivers do not use a neodymium magnet.
Each earbud holds a 60 mAh rechargeable battery rated for 9 hours of playback, while the 450 mAh charging case extends the total available battery life to 24 hours. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, and a battery level indicator is on hand to keep track of remaining power. Wireless charging is not supported, so the case relies on a wired connection to recharge.
The GoFree2 connect wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with a maximum range of 10 m and an audio latency of 60 ms. Supported codecs include LDAC and AAC, while aptX in its various forms — including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, aptX Lossless, and aptX Voice — as well as LDHC are not supported. Fast pairing and NFC pairing are absent, and the earbuds do not support wireless charging; the USB Type-C port handles wired charging duties for the case.
The GoFree2 support multipoint connectivity with up to two devices simultaneously and can function as a headset, with a mute function and voice prompts included. Fast charging is supported, and controls are handled via a panel on the earbuds themselves rather than an in-line control panel on a cable. A travel bag is included in the box for portability. Ambient sound mode, in/on-ear detection, a find device feature, and a body temperature sensor are not part of the feature set.
The GoFree2 are equipped with four microphones to handle voice pickup during calls, though none of them feature noise-canceling capability.
