The TCL NxtPaper 14 Pro features a 14″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a 2880 x 1800 px resolution and a pixel density of 242 ppi, paired with a 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth on-screen motion. Notably, it incorporates an e-paper display layer alongside the standard panel, and an anti-reflection coating is present to help reduce glare. The display does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and neither branded damage-resistant glass nor sapphire glass is used.
The TCL NxtPaper 14 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an 8-thread CPU running at 4 x 2.6 GHz and 4 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE and HMP scheduling. It comes with 12 GB of RAM running at 4267 MHz — expandable up to a maximum of 16 GB — and 256 GB of internal storage, with no external memory slot available. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G77 MP9 GPU clocked at 850 MHz, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The chipset also includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and NX bit support, and the device runs Android 14 in a 64-bit environment. Geekbench 6 scores land at 1122 (single-core) and 3681 (multi-core).
The TCL NxtPaper 14 Pro is equipped with a 50 MP main camera using a CMOS sensor, capable of recording video at 1080p and 30 fps with support for slow-motion recording and continuous autofocus during video capture. A single LED flash is present, along with a video light, though there is no dual-tone or RGB flash, and optical zoom is not available. Privacy features include location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, clipboard warnings, app tracking blocking, and battery health monitoring, though cross-site tracking blocking, Mail Privacy Protection, Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, focus modes, and app offloading are not supported. The device includes an accelerometer and device position tracking, but lacks a gyroscope, compass, barometer, infrared sensor, fingerprint scanner, iris scanner, and built-in projector; 3D facial recognition is also not present.
