Tecno Camon 30

The Tecno Camon 30 has a conventional, non-folding form factor with no rugged build certification and no water resistance. It measures 165.3 mm tall, 75.3 mm wide, and 7.7 mm thick, with a total volume of 95.84 cm³, giving it a slim profile for a device of its screen size.

The Tecno Camon 30 features a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2436 px and a pixel density of 393 ppi, offering a sharp and vivid image across its large panel. The display runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and supports Always-On Display for ambient information at a glance. Branded damage-resistant glass is absent, and HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision are not supported; there is also no secondary screen.

The Tecno Camon 30 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with a 5W TDP and a maximum CPU temperature of 95°C. The octa-core CPU runs two cores at 2.2 GHz and six at 2.0 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support across 8 threads, paired with 12GB of DDR4 RAM at 4266 MHz over two memory channels, delivering a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s with a storage configuration of 256GB eMMC 5.2 at its ceiling. The integrated Mali G57 GPU operates at 950 MHz with a turbo clock of 2133 MHz, features 32 shading units, supports two displays, and is compatible with DirectX 11, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. Additional hardware features include TrustZone security, integrated LTE, and 64-bit support. Benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 432,724, Geekbench 6 multi- and single-core scores of 1,979 and 729 respectively, a PCMark Work 3.0 performance score of 11,216, a PCMark battery result of 619 minutes, and a 3DMark Steel Nomad score of 146.

The Tecno Camon 30 features a triple rear camera system comprising a 50 MP primary CMOS sensor, a 2 MP secondary lens, and a 0.08 MP auxiliary sensor, with optical image stabilization built into the main camera. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus for stills, with continuous autofocus available during video recording; laser autofocus is absent. The main camera records video at up to 1440p at 30 fps with slow-motion support, though HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not available, and 3x optical zoom extends reach without digital interpolation. Two LED flash units are present on the rear without dual-tone or RGB configuration. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, with shooting modes including HDR, burst, panorama, and timelapse; raw capture and manual shutter speed are not supported. The front camera is a single 50 MP lens without a flash, a secondary lens, or an under-display placement.

The Tecno Camon 30 runs Android 14 and includes a practical set of privacy tools covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera/microphone access controls, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. Customization options span dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, and customizable notifications, while focus modes and app offloading are absent. On the usability front, the OS supports split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, and Live Text, and allows games to be played while downloading. It also includes on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, device tracking, a child lock, battery health check, extra dim mode, and multi-user support. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and Wi-Fi password sharing and Quick Start are also absent.

The Tecno Camon 30 houses a 5000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery with a battery level indicator. It supports 70W fast charging and ships with a charger included in the box for immediate use. Wireless charging is not available.

The Tecno Camon 30 covers the core audio bases with stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a built-in FM radio, making it accessible for both wired and speaker-based listening without adapters. Advanced Bluetooth audio codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC — are not supported.

The Tecno Camon 30 operates on a 4G LTE cellular network with no 5G support, and connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) in a dual-SIM configuration without an external memory slot. It uses a USB Type-C port at USB 2.0 speeds, with cellular download and upload speeds reaching up to 650 Mbits/s and 150 Mbits/s respectively. NFC is present for contactless use cases, and location is covered through GPS with Galileo support alongside a compass, gyroscope, and accelerometer; a barometer and heart rate monitor are absent. An infrared sensor adds device control capabilities, while security is handled by a fingerprint scanner with no 3D facial recognition or iris scanner available. HDMI output, DLNA certification, satellite SOS, crash detection, ANT+, motion tracking, optical tracking, a stylus, and a built-in projector are all absent.

The Tecno Camon 30 includes a video light to assist with recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, and the device uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
