Tecno Phantom V Flip 2

The Tecno Phantom V Flip 2 is a foldable smartphone with dimensions of 170.8 x 73.4 mm and a thickness of 7.6 mm, giving it a total volume of approximately 95.28 cm³. It weighs 196 g and does not feature a rugged build. The device offers no water resistance rating, so it carries no official protection against moisture or dust exposure.

The main display is a touch-enabled 6.9″ OLED/AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2640 px and a pixel density of 413 ppi, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth on-screen motion. It supports Always-On Display but does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and lacks HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision certification. As a foldable device, it also features a secondary screen with a resolution of 1056 x 1066 px, providing quick access to notifications and controls when the phone is closed.

The device is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset, fabricated on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU configuration running at 4 x 2.6 GHz and 4 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support, and 8 threads. It is paired with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM at 4267 MHz, supporting up to 16 GB, alongside 256 GB of internal storage. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G77 MP9 GPU clocked at 850 MHz, with support for DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The chipset is 64-bit capable, includes integrated LTE, and scores 1122 and 3681 in Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core tests respectively. Security features include TrustZone and NX bit support.

The rear camera system uses a dual 50 MP setup with optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus, and touch autofocus, and is capable of recording 4K video at 30 fps with continuous autofocus and slow-motion support. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while additional shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, and timelapse. The single LED flash does not use a dual-tone or RGB configuration, and the camera does not support laser autofocus, RAW capture, manual shutter speed, 360° panoramas, or 3D recording. On the front, a 32 MP single-lens camera sits in a standard position above the display — not under it — with an aperture of f/2.5, and has no dedicated flash.

The device runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. Personalization options include theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and app offloading are not supported. On the usability side, the OS offers split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, widgets, a child lock, and the ability to play games while they download. On-device machine learning is present, and the system supports offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, and multi-user profiles, as well as device position tracking. OS updates do not come directly from the vendor, and features like Wi-Fi password sharing, battery health check, Quick Start, and PC mode are absent.

The device is equipped with a 4720 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 70W wired fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for at-a-glance monitoring. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The device features stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The device supports 5G connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with Wi-Fi covering versions 4, 5, and 6 (802.11n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. It includes NFC, a USB Type-C port, GPS with Galileo support, an accelerometer, and a fingerprint scanner, while download speeds reach up to 4700 Mbits/s. There is no external memory slot, HDMI output, infrared sensor, barometer, or DLNA certification, and the device does not support ANT+, 3D facial recognition, iris scanning, or motion and optical tracking. Safety-oriented features such as emergency SOS via satellite and crash detection are also absent, and no stylus or built-in projector is included.

The device includes a video light for use during video recording, while the display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor e-paper technology.
