Tecno Pova 6

The Tecno Pova 6 has a non-folding, non-rugged design measuring 166.2 mm tall, 76.8 mm wide, and 7.9 mm thick, with a total volume of approximately 100.84 cm³ and a weight of 195 g. It carries an IP53 ingress protection rating, meaning it offers resistance to dust and low-pressure water splashes, though it is not built to withstand harsher environmental conditions.

The Tecno Pova 6 uses an OLED/AMOLED touchscreen measuring 6.78″ with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels and a pixel density of 396 ppi, delivering a sharp and detailed visual output. The panel runs at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 180Hz touch sampling rate for responsive interaction, and reaches a typical brightness of 1300 nits. It does not include branded damage-resistant glass, an Always-On Display mode, a secondary screen, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision.

The Tecno Pova 6 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with an octa-core CPU running at 2 x 2.2 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz across 8 threads, using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support and a maximum CPU temperature of 95 °C and a TDP of 5W. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 GPU clocked at 950 MHz with a turbo frequency of 2133 MHz, 32 shading units, integrated graphics, support for up to 2 displays, DirectX 11, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. The device comes with 12GB of LPDDR4 RAM running at 4266 MHz across 2 memory channels with a maximum bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s, alongside 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 448,000, Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core scores of 729 and 1979 respectively, a PCMark Work 3.0 performance score of 11,316, and a PCMark battery endurance result of 994 minutes. The chipset also integrates LTE, supports 64-bit processing, and includes ARM TrustZone security technology.

The Tecno Pova 6 features a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 108 MP and a 2 MP sensor, both using a CMOS configuration, with a main aperture of f/1.8 and support for video recording at 1440p at 30 fps. Autofocus options include phase-detection autofocus for photos, continuous autofocus during video, and touch autofocus, though laser autofocus is absent, and there is no optical image stabilization or optical zoom. The rear camera is backed by four flash LEDs and offers a broad range of manual controls covering exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, along with shooting modes such as HDR, burst, panorama, slow-motion video, and timelapse, while RAW capture, manual shutter speed, and 360° panorama are not supported. On the front, a single-lens 32 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture handles selfies, without a front-facing flash, an under-display placement, or HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording support on either camera.

The Tecno Pova 6 runs on Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. On the personalization side, the OS supports theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes, app offloading, Wi-Fi password sharing, and Quick Start are absent. Productivity and usability features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, customizable notifications, notification permission controls, sharing intents, widgets, and the ability to play games while they download. The system also supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, device tracking, multi-user accounts, a child lock, battery health monitoring, and Live Text functionality, but does not receive direct OS updates from the vendor and cannot be used as a PC replacement.

The Tecno Pova 6 is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 70W wired fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. The battery is non-removable and does not support wireless charging, but the device offers a battery level indicator and an ultra power-saving mode for extending usage when charge runs low.

The Tecno Pova 6 covers the core audio bases with stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-resolution Bluetooth codecs are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC.

The Tecno Pova 6 supports 5G connectivity along with dual SIM operation, Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and Bluetooth 5.3, with download and upload speeds reaching up to 650 Mbits/s and 150 Mbits/s respectively. The device includes a USB Type-C port running on USB 2.0, NFC, and a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, while 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, and a stylus are not included. Navigation is covered by GPS with Galileo support, accompanied by a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, and infrared sensor, whereas a barometer, heart rate monitor, ANT+, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are all absent. There is no external memory slot, no HDMI output, no DLNA certification, no crash detection, and no emergency SOS via satellite.

The Tecno Pova 6 includes a video light for illumination during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
