Tecno Pova 6 Neo

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo is a standard, non-folding handset with an IP53 ingress protection rating, meaning it carries a degree of water resistance against splashes but does not feature a rugged build. It measures 168.6 mm tall, 76.6 mm wide, and 9.2 mm thick, with a total volume of 118.815792 cm³ and a weight of 206 g — placing it on the heavier side for a device of its dimensions.

The display is a 6.78-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2460 px at 396 ppi, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 180Hz touch sampling rate, offering reasonably smooth input response. The panel carries a stated contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 but does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen. Branded damage-resistant glass is also absent.

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo is powered by the Mediatek Helio G99, a 6 nm chipset with an 8-thread CPU configuration running at 2 x 2.2 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture with HMP support. It is paired with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM at 4266 MHz, 256 GB of eMMC 5.2 internal storage, and a maximum supported memory amount of 12 GB across two memory channels with a peak bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G57 GPU clocked at 950 MHz with a turbo frequency of 2133 MHz, 32 shading units, DirectX 11 and OpenGL ES 3.2 support, and the ability to drive up to two displays. Benchmark results include an AnTuTu score of 447,780, Geekbench 6 single and multi-core scores of 729 and 1,979 respectively, and a PCMark Work 3.0 result of 11,768. The chipset also integrates LTE and features TrustZone security, with a TDP of 5W and a rated maximum CPU temperature of 95 °C.

The rear camera system is a dual-lens setup with a 50 MP primary sensor at f/1.8 and a 2 MP secondary lens, using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination or optical image stabilization. Autofocus options include phase-detection for stills and continuous autofocus during video, as well as touch autofocus, though laser autofocus is not present. Manual controls cover ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, while shutter speed adjustment and RAW capture are not supported. Shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, slow-motion video, and timelapse, and video recording reaches up to 1440 x 30 fps without HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording support. The dual-tone LED flash uses two LEDs and accompanies the rear camera, while the 8 MP front camera at f/2 is a single-lens setup with no front-facing flash and is not positioned under the display. Optical zoom is absent, and neither 360-degree panorama nor 3D photo or video capture is supported.

The device runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls covering clipboard warnings, location access management, and camera and microphone permissions, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. On the usability side, the OS supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, Live Text, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they are downloading. On-device machine learning is present, as are offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, multi-user support, a child lock, and a battery health check tool. OS updates do not come directly from the vendor, and features such as focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, and Quick Start are absent.

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo is equipped with a 7000 mAh non-removable rechargeable battery, making it one of the larger capacity options in its category. It supports 33W fast charging and comes with a charger included in the box, while wireless charging is not available. A battery level indicator is present, allowing users to monitor charge status directly on the device.

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo includes stereo speakers and a 3.5 mm headset jack, covering both built-in and wired audio output. A radio is also present. On the wireless audio side, none of the higher-quality Bluetooth codecs are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The device supports Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, but does not offer 5G connectivity, leaving it limited to LTE cellular speeds with a rated download of 650 Mbit/s and upload of 150 Mbit/s. It accommodates two SIM cards and connects via USB Type-C at USB 2.0 spec, with no external memory slot or HDMI output available. Sensors include a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, and GPS with Galileo support, while a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and ANT+ support are all absent. Security and biometrics are handled solely by the fingerprint scanner, as 3D facial recognition and iris scanning are not included, and there is no stylus, built-in projector, crash detection, satellite SOS, or DLNA certification.

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo includes a video light to assist with recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved, does not use sapphire glass, and is not an e-paper panel.
