Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G

The Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G measures 165.5 mm tall, 76.1 mm wide, and 7.9 mm thick, with a total volume of 99.5 cm³ and a weight of 198.3 g. It carries an IP53 rating, offering protection against dust and light splashes, though it does not have a rugged build and cannot be folded.

The display is a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2436 px and a pixel density of 393 ppi, running at a 120Hz refresh rate with a 180Hz touch sampling rate for responsive input. Brightness is rated at 1300 nits, and Always-On Display is supported for glanceable information without fully waking the screen. The panel does not feature branded damage-resistant glass, and HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision are not supported. There is no secondary screen.

The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080, an octa-core SoC built on a 6 nm process with a big.LITTLE configuration running two cores at 2.4 GHz and six at 2.0 GHz, operating within a 6W TDP envelope. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G57 MC2, clocked at 950 MHz with 64 shading units and 2 execution units, supporting DirectX 12. The chip ships with 12 GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133 MHz alongside 256 GB of internal storage, with the platform supporting up to 16 GB of memory and a maximum bandwidth of 17.07 GB/s. Cache is structured across 512 KB L1, 1 MB L2, and 2 MB L3. In benchmarks, the SoC scores 2057 multi-core and 767 single-core in Geekbench 6, and 1780 multi-core and 660 single-core in Geekbench 5. LTE is integrated into the SoC, and 64-bit processing with multithreading is fully supported.

The rear camera system is a dual-lens setup led by a 108 MP main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, 2.1 µm pixel size, and a CMOS configuration, paired with a 2 MP secondary lens. Video recording reaches up to 1440p at 30 fps, with continuous autofocus during recording and slow-motion support, though optical image stabilization, optical zoom, and a back-illuminated sensor are absent. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, while laser autofocus is not present. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, but manual shutter speed and RAW shooting are not available. The flash uses a dual-tone LED setup with two LEDs. Shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, and timelapse, though 360° panorama, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D capture are not supported. The 32 MP front camera is a single-lens unit with its own LED flash and is not placed under the display.

The device runs Android 14 and includes a solid set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. Personalization options include theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and app offloading are not supported. On the productivity side, the OS supports split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, customizable notifications, and the ability to play games during download. Additional features include on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, widgets, a child lock, multi-user support, battery health monitoring, and device tracking. Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and direct OS vendor updates are not available, and the device cannot function as a PC.

The Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 70W fast charging, with a charger included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The device covers the basics of audio output well, offering stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a built-in radio. However, none of the high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent, limiting wireless audio fidelity to standard Bluetooth transmission.

The device supports 5G connectivity with download speeds of up to 2770 MBits/s and upload speeds of up to 1250 MBits/s, alongside dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3. NFC is included, and the USB-C port runs on USB 2.0. An external memory slot is available for expandable storage. Location coverage includes GPS with Galileo support, and onboard sensors comprise a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass; a barometer, infrared sensor, and heart rate monitor are not present. Biometric security is handled by a fingerprint scanner, with no 3D facial recognition or iris scanner. Safety features such as crash detection and emergency SOS via satellite are absent, and there is no HDMI output, ANT+ support, DLNA certification, stylus, or built-in projector.

The device includes a video light for illumination during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved and features neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
