Tecno Pova Slim

The Tecno Pova Slim has a notably slender profile, measuring 6 mm thick and 164.2 mm tall with a width of 75.9 mm, while its 156 g weight keeps the overall feel light in hand. Its total volume comes in at 74.77668 cm³, and despite the slim construction the device carries an IP64 ingress protection rating, offering resistance against dust and water splashing. It does not feature a rugged build and cannot be folded, and no dedicated water resistance beyond the IP64 classification is listed.

The Tecno Pova Slim features a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touch screen with a resolution of 1224 x 2720 px and a pixel density of 440 ppi, delivering a sharp and vibrant visual output. Its 144Hz refresh rate enables smooth on-screen motion, while the typical brightness of 1600 nits ensures readability across varying lighting conditions. The Tecno Pova Slim is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, built on a 6 nm process with a CPU configuration of 2 x 2.5 GHz and 6 x 2 GHz cores using big.LITTLE technology and multithreading support. It comes with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MHz and 256 GB of internal storage, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s. Graphics are handled by the integrated Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, clocked at 950 MHz, supporting DirectX 12 and a single display output. The SoC also integrates LTE, supports 64-bit processing, and the overall platform is capable of driving one external display.

The rear camera system uses a dual-lens configuration with a 50 MP main sensor and a 2 MP secondary lens, both relying on a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination or optical image stabilization. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus is not present. Video can be recorded at up to 1440p at 30 fps, with slow-motion recording also supported, while HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not available. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, but manual shutter speed and RAW capture are absent; additional shooting modes include burst, panorama, and timelapse. Customization options are well covered, with theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, extra dim mode, and widget support all present. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, customizable notifications, and the ability to play games while they download. The OS supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, app offloading, a child lock, multi-user support, and device position tracking. Battery health check is included, while Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not supported, and direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided.

The Tecno Pova Slim houses a non-removable rechargeable battery with a capacity of 5160 mAh, paired with 45W fast charging support for relatively quick top-ups via cable. A battery level indicator is included, making it easy to monitor remaining charge at a glance. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not supported.

The Tecno Pova Slim includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack for wired audio and a built-in radio, offering a couple of practical audio conveniences. Stereo speakers are not present, so audio output is limited to a single speaker. On the wireless audio side, none of the high-quality Bluetooth codec options are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The Tecno Pova Slim supports 5G connectivity alongside Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and accommodates two SIM cards simultaneously. Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC are both on board, while the USB Type-C port handles wired connectivity; there is no HDMI output and no external memory slot. Maximum download speeds reach 3300 MBits/s, and the device includes a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, though 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not available. The sensor suite covers a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, GPS with Galileo support, and an infrared sensor, while a barometer, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, and motion or optical tracking are absent.
