Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus has a non-folding, non-rugged form factor measuring 164.7 × 75 × 7.6 mm and weighing 179 g, giving it a relatively slim and light physical profile for a large-screen device. It carries an IP53 rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, and has a maximum operating temperature of 41 °C. Its total volume comes to 93.879 cm³.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus uses a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2436 px and a pixel density of 393 ppi, running at a 120Hz refresh rate with an exceptionally high touch sampling rate of 1500Hz for responsive input. The panel reaches a typical brightness of 1000 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, offering meaningful resistance against everyday scratches and drops. An Always-On Display mode is supported, adding passive notification visibility without fully waking the screen. The display does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus is driven by the Mediatek Helio G99, a 6 nm chipset with eight threads arranged in a big.LITTLE configuration using HMP — two performance cores at 2.2 GHz and six efficiency cores at 2 GHz — with a TDP of 5W and a rated CPU temperature ceiling of 95 °C. It is paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM running at 4266 MHz across two memory channels, a maximum memory bandwidth of 17.1 GB/s, and 256GB of eMMC 5.2 internal storage, with support for up to 12GB of RAM. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G57, clocked at 950 MHz with a turbo mode reaching 2133 MHz, 32 shading units, support for two displays, and compatibility with DirectX 11, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The SoC also includes integrated LTE, 64-bit support, and TrustZone security. Benchmark results show an AnTuTu score of 419,634, Geekbench 6 scores of 746 (single-core) and 2036 (multi-core), a PCMark Work 3.0 performance score of 11,003 with a battery endurance result of 633 minutes, and a 3DMark Steel Nomad score of 143.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus features a multi-lens rear camera system headlined by a 108 MP CMOS sensor at f/1.8 with individual pixels measuring 0.64 µm, though it lacks a back-illuminated sensor and optical image stabilization. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus for stills, as well as continuous autofocus during video, while laser autofocus is absent. Video recording tops out at 1440p at 30 fps, and slow-motion recording is also supported. The flash setup is notable, using a four-LED dual-tone arrangement, though it is not an RGB flash. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, but manual shutter speed and RAW capture are not available; the camera does support HDR mode, burst shooting, panorama, and timelapse. On the front, a single-lens 32 MP camera at f/2.2 is positioned in a standard location without an under-display placement, and it has no accompanying flash. Optical zoom is not present.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus runs Android 14 and includes a solid set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and app tracking blocking, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. Customization options include dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, and widgets, while focus modes, app offloading, Wi-Fi password sharing, and Quick Start are absent. The OS supports on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, device tracking, multi-user accounts, a child lock, and a battery health check. On the productivity side, users get split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, Live Text, and the ability to play games while they are still downloading. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and the device cannot function as a PC.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus is equipped with a 5000 mAh non-removable rechargeable battery that supports 33W fast charging, with a charger included in the box. Wireless charging is not available. The device features a battery level indicator and an ultra power-saving mode for extending usage when charge is running low, but does not support wireless charging.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus includes stereo speakers and a built-in radio, and is fitted with two microphones for voice capture. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is not present, and there is no support for high-fidelity wireless audio codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent, limiting wireless audio to standard Bluetooth transmission.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus operates on LTE with a dual-SIM cellular module but does not support 5G, with download speeds reaching up to 650 Mbit/s and upload speeds up to 150 Mbit/s. Wireless connectivity covers Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC, while wired connectivity is provided through a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0. The device includes an external memory slot for expandable storage, and location capabilities span GPS with Galileo support and a compass. On-board sensors include a gyroscope and accelerometer, while a barometer, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, and ANT+ are all absent. Security is handled by a fingerprint scanner, with 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner not featured. Emergency SOS via satellite, crash detection, HDMI output, DLNA certification, motion and optical tracking, and a built-in projector are also not present.

The Tecno Spark 20 Pro Plus features a curved display and includes a video light for use during recording. The screen is not made of sapphire glass, and the device does not have an e-paper display.
