Tecno Spark Go 1S

The Tecno Spark Go 1S has a non-folding, standard-form design measuring 165.62 mm tall, 77 mm wide, and 8.35 mm thick, with a total volume of approximately 106.49 cm³ and a weight of 190 g. It carries an IP54 ingress protection rating, meaning it offers resistance to dust and water splashes, though it is not built to rugged standards and is not designed for more demanding environmental exposure.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 263 ppi, paired with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, so color and contrast enhancements associated with those standards are absent. There is no Always-On Display functionality and no secondary screen.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S is driven by the MediaTek Helio G50 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an eight-core CPU running at 4 x 2.2 GHz paired with four additional cores also at 2.2 GHz, totalling 8 threads and a TDP of 2.2W. The SoC uses big.LITTLE architecture with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP) support, integrates LTE, and includes ARM TrustZone and NX bit security features. Graphics are handled by the PowerVR GE8320 GPU clocked at 680 MHz, with support for DirectX 10, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 1.2. The device comes with 3 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 1600 MHz, offering a maximum memory bandwidth of 13.9 GB/s and a maximum supported memory amount of 8 GB, alongside 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The platform is fully 64-bit capable and recorded an AnTuTu benchmark score of 143,193.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S uses a single-lens 13 MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a CMOS sensor, supporting phase-detection autofocus, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though it lacks optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and a back-illuminated sensor. Manual controls include exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, slow-motion video, and in-camera panoramas are also available; however, raw shooting, manual shutter speed, and 360-degree panorama capture are not supported. Video recording tops out at 1080p at 30 fps, with no HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording on offer. The rear flash is a dual-tone LED unit with two LEDs, though it is not an RGB flash. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera sits above the display with an f/2.0 aperture and its own LED flash, covering standard selfie and video needs without an under-display or multi-lens arrangement.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S runs Android 14, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user profiles, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, and the ability to play games while they download. Privacy-focused features include clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not available. The OS also offers theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications with notification permission controls, a media picker, full-page screenshots, text selection from images, and sharing intents. Offline voice recognition, voice commands, on-device machine learning, phone tracking, battery health check, and a child lock round out the feature set, while Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not supported. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 15W wired fast charging, allowing for quicker top-ups compared to standard charging rates. Wireless charging is not available. The device includes a battery level indicator, giving users a straightforward way to monitor remaining charge.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack for wired listening and features stereo speakers for on-device audio output. A built-in radio is also present. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec standards — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC, with cellular connectivity through a single SIM slot and no 5G support. Wired connectivity is handled via a USB Type-C port, though there is no HDMI output. Download speeds reach up to 300 Mbit/s and upload speeds up to 150 Mbit/s. For navigation, the device includes GPS with Galileo support, while a compass, gyroscope, and barometer are absent; an accelerometer is present. Storage can be expanded through an external memory slot. Security is covered by a fingerprint scanner, though 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not available. Features such as satellite emergency SOS, crash detection, ANT+, a heart rate monitor, an infrared sensor, DLNA certification, a built-in projector, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a stylus are all absent.

The Tecno Spark Go 1S includes a video light to assist with recording in low-light conditions. The display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
