Umidigi G9T

The Umidigi G9T has a straightforward, non-rugged design that measures 167.2 x 77 x 7.9 mm and weighs 189 g, giving it a relatively slim and lightweight form factor for a large-screen device. It does not fold and offers no water resistance, so it is intended for standard everyday use rather than demanding or outdoor environments. Its total volume comes in at around 101.71 cm³, reflecting a conventional candy-bar smartphone build.

The Umidigi G9T features a 6.75-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px and a pixel density of 260 ppi, delivering a reasonably sharp image for its size class. The panel runs at a 90Hz refresh rate, which contributes to smoother scrolling and general navigation. It does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and there is no support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, nor does it offer an Always-On Display or a secondary screen.

The Umidigi G9T is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an octa-core CPU running all eight threads at 1.6 GHz, and it supports 64-bit processing, big.LITTLE technology, and HMP for more efficient workload distribution. It comes with 4GB of DDR4 RAM at 1600 MHz and 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with a maximum supported memory amount of 14GB. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 MP1 GPU, clocked at 650 MHz with 64 shading units and one execution unit, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2.0. The SoC also integrates LTE and TrustZone security, offers a maximum memory bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s, and carries a TDP of 10W. In benchmarks, the chipset scores 1391 in Geekbench 6 multi-core, 371 in single-core, and 2663 in PassMark, with cache configuration comprising 128 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 1 MB L3.

The Umidigi G9T carries a dual-lens rear camera system combining a 13 MP and a 2 MP sensor on a CMOS array, capable of recording video at 1080p and 30 fps with continuous autofocus during recording. It supports phase-detection autofocus and touch autofocus for stills, along with a solid set of manual controls including exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. Additional shooting modes include HDR, burst, panorama, slow-motion, and timelapse, while optical zoom and a BSI sensor are absent, and RAW capture is not supported. A single LED flash is present at the rear, though there is no dual-tone or RGB flash. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies, but it lacks its own flash and is not positioned under the display. HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not supported, nor are 3D or 360-degree capture modes.

The Umidigi G9T runs Android 14, a free and open-source platform that supports multi-user operation, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, and dynamic theming alongside theme customization. Privacy tools are well-represented, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access controls, and app tracking blocking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are absent. The OS includes dark mode, an extra dim mode, battery health check, full-page scrolling screenshots, a media picker, customizable notifications, sharing intents, a child lock, and on-device machine learning. Users also benefit from offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text, and device position tracking, while games can be played during downloads. On the other hand, focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, direct OS vendor updates, and Quick Start are not available.

The Umidigi G9T is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 18W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for convenient monitoring. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The Umidigi G9T includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack for wired audio and a built-in radio, offering a couple of traditional audio conveniences. It does not feature stereo speakers, so audio output is limited to a single channel. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec options are supported, including aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC.

The Umidigi G9T supports dual SIM cards and connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5 as well as Bluetooth 5.0, though 5G is not available and cellular connectivity is limited to LTE. The USB Type-C port runs on USB 2.0, and there is an external memory slot for expandable storage. Download speeds reach up to 300 Mbit/s with upload speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. For location, the device includes GPS with Galileo support alongside a compass and accelerometer, while a gyroscope, barometer, and infrared sensor are absent. A fingerprint scanner handles biometric authentication, as 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present. NFC, HDMI output, DLNA certification, ANT+, a heart rate monitor, satellite SOS, crash detection, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are all unsupported, and no stylus is included.

The Umidigi G9T includes a video light, which can be used to illuminate scenes during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and it uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
