Vivo iQOO Z9 Turbo Endurance

The Vivo iQOO Z9 Turbo Endurance has a non-folding slate form factor measuring 163.7 mm tall, 75.9 mm wide, and 8 mm thick, with a weight of 196 g and a total volume of roughly 99.4 cm³. It carries an IP64 rating, meaning it offers meaningful protection against dust and water splashing, though it is not classified as a rugged device. The handset is rated to operate across a broad temperature range, from -20 °C at the low end up to 50 °C at the high end, which reflects a reasonable tolerance for varied environmental conditions.

The display is a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen panel running at a resolution of 1260 x 2800 px, which works out to a pixel density of 453 ppi. It supports a 144 Hz refresh rate alongside a 300 Hz touch sampling rate, and the Always-On Display feature is available for at-a-glance information without fully waking the screen. The panel achieves a contrast ratio of 6,000,000:1 and supports HDR10, though HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are not supported. There is no secondary screen, and the display does not use branded damage-resistant glass.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a 4 nm chipset with a multi-core CPU configuration running at 1 x 3, 4 x 2.8, and 3 x 2 GHz using big.LITTLE technology, multithreading, and a 12.5 W TDP. Graphics are handled by the integrated Adreno 735 GPU clocked at 1100 MHz with 3 execution units, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.3, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenVG 1.2, and OpenCL 2, with output to a single display. The configuration tested here includes 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 4800 MHz with a maximum memory bandwidth of 64 GB/s and a maximum supported memory amount of 24 GB, paired with 512 GB of internal storage and external expansion support up to 1 TB. Cache consists of 1 MB of L2 and 8 MB of L3, and the SoC includes integrated LTE and TrustZone security. Benchmark results show an AnTuTu score of 1,523,879, a Geekbench 6 single-core score of 2,019, and a multi-core score of 5,570, with the platform also supporting 64-bit processing.

The rear camera system is a dual-lens setup with sensors of 50 MP and 2 MP, paired with apertures of f/1.8 and f/2.4 respectively, and includes optical image stabilization to help steady shots. Autofocus is handled via phase detection for photos and continuous autofocus during video recording, while touch autofocus is also available; laser autofocus is not present. The main camera can record video at 2160p at 60 fps with HDR10 support, and slow-motion recording is included, though Dolby Vision recording and 3D video capture are not supported. Two LED flash units are fitted at the rear, while there is no RGB flash. Manual controls extend to ISO, exposure, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available, and RAW shooting is not supported. Additional shooting modes include burst mode, in-camera panorama, and timelapse, while 360-degree panorama capture is absent. On the front, there is a single 8 MP camera with an f/2.5 aperture — it is a conventional placement with no under-display positioning, no secondary front lens, and no front-facing flash.

The device runs on Android 15 and covers a broad range of privacy controls, including clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not included. Customization options are well represented, with theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, an extra dim mode, widgets, and customizable notifications all present, while focus modes are not available. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, Live Text, the ability to play games while they download, and app offloading. On-device machine learning is supported alongside offline voice recognition and voice commands, and the system functions as a multi-user platform with child lock, device tracking, and battery health check tools built in. OS updates do not come directly from the vendor, Wi-Fi password sharing is absent, and Quick Start is not supported.

The device is equipped with a 6400 mAh rechargeable battery that is non-removable and supports 80W wired fast charging, allowing for relatively quick top-ups. Wireless charging is not available. A battery level indicator is present, keeping the user informed of remaining charge at a glance.

Audio output is handled through stereo speakers, and Bluetooth audio codec support covers aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive, offering a range of wireless audio quality options depending on the connected device. LDAC and aptX Lossless are not supported. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, so wired audio requires an adapter, and no built-in radio is present.

The device supports 5G connectivity and accepts two SIM cards, with download speeds reaching up to 10,000 Mbits/s and upload speeds up to 3,500 Mbits/s.
