It carries an IP69 rating, classifying it as waterproof and capable of withstanding high-temperature, high-pressure water jets. The device does not feature a rugged build in the traditional reinforced sense, but its ingress protection level provides a solid degree of resistance for everyday exposure to water.

The Vivo V50 features a 6.77″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2392 px and a pixel density of 388 ppi, delivering a sharp and vibrant visual experience. The panel runs at a 120 Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 1300 nits, with support for both HDR10 and HDR10+ for enhanced contrast and color depth. Always-On Display is available, allowing glanceable information without fully waking the screen. Dolby Vision is not supported, there is no secondary screen, and the display does not use branded damage-resistant glass.

The Vivo V50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, a 4 nm chipset with an octa-core CPU configuration running at up to 2.63 GHz across 8 threads, using big.LITTLE technology for efficiency management and a TDP of 6W. Graphics are handled by the integrated Adreno 720 GPU clocked at 950 MHz, with support for DirectX 12 and OpenGL ES 3.2. The chip includes integrated LTE, TrustZone security, and 64-bit support. The device ships with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM at 3200 MHz and 256 GB of internal storage, with the platform supporting a maximum of 16 GB of memory and a peak memory bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s. Multithreading is supported across all cores, and the AnTuTu benchmark score of 866,863 reflects the overall compute capability of this configuration.

The Vivo V50 features a dual rear camera system with two 50 MP CMOS sensors at apertures of f/2.0 and f/1.9, capable of recording 4K video at 30 fps with continuous autofocus during recording and slow-motion video support. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch AF, though laser autofocus is absent, and there is no optical image stabilization or optical zoom. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while burst mode, HDR, timelapse, and in-camera panorama are all available; manual shutter speed, RAW capture, 360° panorama, HDR10 recording, and Dolby Vision recording are not supported. A single flash is present on the rear, but there is no dual-tone or RGB LED flash. The Vivo V50 runs Android 15 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera/microphone access management; cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. On the customization side, the OS supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, widgets, and customizable notifications. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, the ability to offload apps, and the option to play games while they download. On-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, and voice commands are all supported, as are phone tracking and multi-user functionality. A battery health check and extra dim mode are included, while focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, and the ability to use the device as a PC are not available. OS updates are not delivered directly from the vendor, and the platform is noted as free and open source.

The Vivo V50 is equipped with a 6000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 90W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The Vivo V50 includes stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack and does not have a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec standards are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.
