Vivo X Fold 3

The Vivo X Fold 3 is a foldable device with a folding form factor that measures 160 mm in height, 142.7 mm in width, and just 4.7 mm in thickness, giving it a notably slim profile for its category. It weighs 219 g and occupies a volume of 107.3104 cm³. The phone does not feature a rugged build and carries no water resistance rating, so it lacks protection against moisture or harsh environmental conditions.

The Vivo X Fold 3 features an 8.03″ OLED/AMOLED touch screen with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 px and a pixel density of 413 ppi, paired with a 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth on-screen motion. The display supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, and includes an Always-On Display mode. A secondary screen is also present, offering a resolution of 1172 x 2748 px. The main display does not use branded damage-resistant glass.

The Vivo X Fold 3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with an 8-thread CPU configuration running at speeds of 1 x 3.2, 4 x 2.8, and 3 x 2 GHz, with a turbo clock of 3.36 GHz, and a TDP of 6.3W. It supports 64-bit processing, big.LITTLE technology, multithreading, and TrustZone security. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 740 GPU, which operates at 970 MHz, features 3 execution units and 768 shading units, and supports DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.3, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2, and OpenVG 1.2, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 64 GB/s. The device carries 16 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 4200 MHz alongside 1024 GB of internal storage, with L2 and L3 caches of 1 MB and 8 MB respectively. Benchmark results include a Geekbench 6 single-core score of 2027 and a 3DMark Wild Life Extreme score of 3191, while integrated LTE is also present on the SoC.

The Vivo X Fold 3 features a triple rear camera system with three 50 MP sensors, each with apertures of f/1.8, f/1.9, and f/2.0 respectively, supported by optical image stabilization, 2x optical zoom, and a dual-tone LED flash with two LEDs. Autofocus options include phase-detection, laser, touch, and continuous autofocus during video recording, while manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance. The main camera uses a CMOS sensor without back-illumination and can record video at up to 4320p at 30 fps, along with slow-motion video, timelapse, burst mode, HDR, and in-camera panoramas, though 360-degree panorama, RAW capture, Dolby Vision recording, and 3D photo or video are not supported. On the front, a single-lens camera offers dual 32 MP sensors — though it does not use a multi-lens arrangement as a combined front unit — and has no front-facing flash or under-display placement.

The Vivo X Fold 3 runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. On the customization side, it supports theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and app offloading are absent. Productivity features include split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, customizable notifications, widgets, and the ability to play games while they download. The software also supports on-device machine learning, Live Text, offline voice recognition, voice commands, multi-user accounts, a child lock, battery health checks, and device position tracking. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and Quick Start and Wi-Fi password sharing are likewise unavailable.

The Vivo X Fold 3 is equipped with a 5500 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 80W wired fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The Vivo X Fold 3 includes stereo speakers and supports aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive for wireless audio transmission, though aptX Lossless and LDAC are not available. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, and the device does not include a built-in radio.

The Vivo X Fold 3 supports 5G connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with download speeds of up to 10000 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 3000 Mbit/s. Wi-Fi coverage spans Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7, including Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, and Wi-Fi 6E, while Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC are also on board. The device uses a USB Type-C port with USB 3.2 and has no external memory slot or HDMI output. Sensors include a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, GPS with Galileo support, infrared sensor, and a fingerprint scanner, though there is no barometer, heart rate monitor, iris scanner, or 3D facial recognition. Crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, ANT+, DLNA certification, motion tracking, optical tracking, stylus support, and a built-in projector are all absent.

The Vivo X Fold 3 includes a video light for illumination during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and the device does not use sapphire glass or an e-paper display.
