Vivo X Fold 3 Pro

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is a foldable device carrying an IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning it offers certified protection against water immersion — a notable inclusion for a folding form factor. It measures 160 mm in height, 142.4 mm in width, and 5.2 mm in thickness, with a total volume of 118.4768 cm³ and a weight of 236 g. The device does not feature a rugged build despite its water resistance certification.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro features an 8.03″ OLED/AMOLED touch display with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 px, a pixel density of 413 ppi, and a 120 Hz refresh rate, complemented by a peak brightness of 4500 nits for strong visibility in varying lighting conditions. The panel supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, and includes an Always-On Display mode. A secondary screen is also present, running at a resolution of 1172 x 2748 px. Branded damage-resistant glass is not used on this display.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, built on a 4 nm process with an 8-thread CPU configuration spread across four clock clusters running at 1 x 3.3, 3 x 3.15, 2 x 2.96, and 2 x 2.26 GHz, with a TDP of 12.5W. The chip supports 64-bit processing, big.LITTLE technology, Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP), multithreading, and TrustZone security, and includes integrated LTE. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 750 GPU at 900 MHz, with 3 execution units, DirectX 12, OpenGL 3.2, OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2, and OpenVG 1.2 support. The device carries 16 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 4800 MHz across 2 memory channels, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 76.6 GB/s and a maximum supported memory amount of 24 GB, alongside 1024 GB of internal storage and L2 and L3 caches of 1 MB and 12 MB respectively. The system uses a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination, and autofocus options include phase-detection, laser, touch, and continuous autofocus during video capture. A dual-tone LED flash with two LEDs is present, and video recording reaches up to 4320p at 30 fps, with additional support for slow-motion recording, timelapse, HDR, burst mode, and in-camera panoramas. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro runs Android 14 and includes a solid range of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. Customization options extend to theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, and an extra dim mode, while focus modes and app offloading are absent. On the usability side, the software supports split-screen multitasking, picture-in-picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, customizable notifications, widgets, and the ability to play games while downloading. It also includes on-device machine learning, Live Text, offline voice recognition, voice commands, multi-user support, a child lock, battery health checks, and device position tracking. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and Wi-Fi password sharing and Quick Start are likewise unavailable.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro houses a 5700 mAh rechargeable battery with support for 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging, offering a flexible range of replenishment options. A charger is included in the box, and a battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is not removable.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro includes stereo speakers and offers a comprehensive set of wireless audio codec support, covering aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC — catering to a wide range of high-quality wireless audio scenarios. There is no 3.5 mm headphone jack, and no built-in radio is present.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro supports 5G cellular connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with download speeds reaching up to 10000 Mbit/s and upload speeds up to 3500 Mbit/s. Wi-Fi coverage spans Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7, including Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, and Wi-Fi 6E, while Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC are also on board. The device features a USB Type-C port with USB 3.2, though there is no external memory slot or HDMI output. Its sensor suite includes a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer, GPS with Galileo support, infrared sensor, and a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition, an iris scanner, and a heart rate monitor are absent. Emergency SOS via satellite, crash detection, ANT+, DLNA certification, motion tracking, optical tracking, a stylus, and a built-in projector are likewise not present.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro includes a video light to assist with illumination during video recording. The display is flat with no curved edges, and neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper display is used.
