Vivo Y04

The Vivo Y04 has a standard candy-bar form factor with no folding mechanism or ruggedized construction, measuring 167.3 mm tall, 77 mm wide, and 8.2 mm thick. It weighs 199 g and occupies a volume of roughly 105.63 cm³. Despite its non-rugged build, the device carries an IP64 rating, which means it is protected against dust ingress and resistant to water splashes from any direction.

The Vivo Y04 features a 6.74-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px and a pixel density of 260 ppi. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which helps deliver smoother motion during scrolling and general use. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Always-On Display functionality. There is no secondary screen present on the device.

The Vivo Y04 is driven by the Unisoc T612 chipset, a 12nm octa-core processor with all eight threads running at 1.8 GHz, using big.LITTLE technology to balance performance and efficiency. It is paired with 4GB of DDR4 RAM at 1866 MHz and 128GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage, with the platform supporting a maximum memory configuration of up to 8GB. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G57 MP1 GPU, which features 2 execution units, 32 shading units, a turbo clock of 614.4 MHz, and support for DirectX 11 and OpenCL 2. The SoC includes integrated LTE, ARM TrustZone security, and 64-bit support, while the cache hierarchy consists of 128 KB of L1, 2 MB of L2, and 1 MB of L3 cache, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s. The device achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score of 252,597, reflecting its overall compute capability.

The Vivo Y04 has a single-lens 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a CMOS sensor, though it lacks a back-illuminated sensor and optical image stabilization. Autofocus options include phase-detection and touch autofocus, as well as continuous autofocus during video recording, while laser autofocus is not present. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. The camera supports HDR mode, burst shooting, panorama, timelapse, and slow-motion video, and records footage at up to 1080p at 30fps, without HDR10 or Dolby Vision recording support. The Vivo Y04 runs Android 14 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are not available. App tracking can be blocked, and on-device machine learning is supported. On the usability side, the device offers dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, customizable notifications, a media picker, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. Extra dim mode, battery health check, Live Text, offline voice recognition, voice commands, child lock, multi-user support, and phone tracking are also present. Focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, app offloading, Quick Start, and the ability to function as a PC are not supported. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and the OS is noted as free and open source.

The Vivo Y04 is equipped with a 5500 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 15W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is built in for convenient monitoring. The battery is not removable, and wireless charging is not supported.

The Vivo Y04 covers the audio basics with stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a built-in FM radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported.

The Vivo Y04 operates on 4G LTE with no 5G support, accommodates two SIM cards, and reaches download speeds of up to 300 Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) along with Bluetooth 5.2, though NFC is absent. The device connects via USB Type-C with USB 2.0 and offers an external memory slot for storage expansion. For positioning, GPS and Galileo are supported, while a compass, gyroscope, and barometer are not present. The accelerometer is included, but motion tracking, optical tracking, a heart rate monitor, an infrared sensor, and ANT+ support are all absent. Security is handled by a fingerprint scanner, with no 3D facial recognition or iris scanner on board. Additional features such as HDMI output, DLNA certification, satellite SOS, crash detection, a built-in projector, and a stylus are not available.

The Vivo Y04 includes a video light for use during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and the device does not feature sapphire glass protection or an e-paper screen.
