Vivo Y05

The Vivo Y05 has a standard candy-bar form factor — it does not fold and lacks a rugged build. It measures 167.4 mm tall, 77.1 mm wide, and 8.4 mm thick, with a total volume of roughly 108.41 cm³ and a weight of 209 g. Despite its non-rugged classification, the device carries an IP65 rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making it reasonably resilient in everyday wet conditions.

The Vivo Y05 uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.74 inches, with a resolution of 720 x 1600 px and a pixel density of 260 ppi. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which enables smoother on-screen motion. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, an Always-On Display mode, or a secondary screen, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision.

The Vivo Y05 is built around the Unisoc T7225 chipset, fabricated on a 12 nm process and featuring an 8-thread octa-core CPU running at up to 1.8 GHz across all cores, with big.LITTLE technology managing workload distribution. The SoC includes integrated LTE, supports 64-bit processing, and incorporates ARM TrustZone for hardware-level security. Graphics are handled by the Mali G57 MP1 GPU, which has 2 execution units, 32 shading units, a turbo clock of 614.4 MHz, and supports DirectX 11 and OpenCL 2. The device ships with 4 GB of DDR4 RAM running at 1866 MHz and a maximum supported memory amount of 8 GB, alongside 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Memory bandwidth reaches up to 12.8 GB/s, and the cache hierarchy consists of 128 KB L1, 2 MB L2, and 1 MB L3 cache.

The Vivo Y05 features a single-lens 8 MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a CMOS sensor, supported by phase-detection autofocus for stills, touch autofocus, and continuous autofocus during video recording, though laser autofocus and optical image stabilization are not included. It records video at 1080p and 30 fps and supports slow-motion recording, while HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not available. Manual controls extend to exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, with burst mode and in-camera panorama also on offer, though manual shutter speed and RAW capture are absent; there is no optical zoom. The flash setup consists of two LED units in a standard configuration — dual-tone and RGB flash are not featured. On the front, a 5 MP camera sits at f/2.2, handling selfies without a front-facing flash, a secondary lens, or an under-display placement. Additional camera modes include timelapse, while 360-degree panorama and 3D photo or video capabilities are not supported.

The Vivo Y05 runs Android 16 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, and camera and microphone access management, though Mail Privacy Protection and cross-site tracking blocking are absent. Customization options include theme customization, dynamic theming, dark mode, an extra dim mode, home screen widgets, and customizable notifications. Productivity features extend to split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, app offloading, and the ability to play games while they download; using the device as a PC is not supported. The OS also provides on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, phone tracking, multi-user support, a child lock, Live Text, and a battery health check. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, Quick Start, and direct OS vendor updates are not available, and the platform is identified as free and open source.

The Vivo Y05 is equipped with a 6500 mAh rechargeable battery that is non-removable. It supports wired fast charging at 15W, and a charger is included in the box. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not available. A battery level indicator is present to help monitor charge status.

The Vivo Y05 includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and stereo speakers, along with a built-in FM radio. On the wireless audio side, none of the advanced Bluetooth codec options are supported — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The Vivo Y05 supports 4G cellular connectivity but does not include 5G. It connects wirelessly via Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) and Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and uses Bluetooth 5.2 alongside NFC for short-range communication. The device accepts two SIM cards and has an external memory slot for expandable storage. Wired connectivity is handled through a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0, while HDMI output is not available. Download speeds reach up to 300 Mbit/s and upload up to 100 Mbit/s. For navigation, it includes GPS with Galileo support and a compass, though a gyroscope, barometer, and accelerometer round out — with only the accelerometer present; the gyroscope and barometer are absent. Security is covered by a fingerprint scanner, while 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not featured. ANT+, infrared sensor, heart rate monitor, DLNA certification, motion tracking, optical tracking, crash detection, emergency SOS via satellite, and a built-in projector are all unsupported, and no stylus is included.

The Vivo Y05 includes a video light for illumination during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
