Vivo Y21d

A standout aspect of its build is the IP68 ingress protection rating, which certifies it as waterproof to a depth of 6 metres, offering solid resistance against water immersion. It does not feature a rugged build in the traditional hardened sense, but the IP68 certification still makes it well-suited for environments where exposure to water is a concern.

The Vivo Y21d features a 6.68″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1608 px and a pixel density of 264 ppi, paired with a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion. The panel is protected by branded damage-resistant glass, adding a layer of durability to everyday use. It does not support HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no Always-On Display mode or secondary screen present.

The Vivo Y21d is powered by the Unisoc T7225 chipset, built on a 12 nm process with an 8-thread CPU running at 2 x 1.8 GHz and 6 x 1.8 GHz using big.LITTLE architecture, alongside a Mali G57 MP1 GPU with 2 execution units, 32 shading units, and a turbo clock of 614.4 MHz. The device supports 64-bit processing, DirectX 11, OpenCL 2, integrated graphics, integrated LTE, and ARM TrustZone security. It comes with 6GB of DDR4 RAM running at 1866 MHz and a maximum supported memory of 8GB, backed by a memory bandwidth of 12.8 GB/s and eMMC 5.1 storage totalling 256GB. The cache hierarchy includes 128 KB of L1, 2 MB of L2, and 1 MB of L3 cache.

The Vivo Y21d has a single-lens rear camera with a 50 MP CMOS sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, capable of recording video at 1080p and 30 fps, with support for slow-motion recording, continuous autofocus during video, and phase-detection autofocus for stills. Manual controls include exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while additional shooting modes cover burst, panorama, and timelapse; there is no optical zoom, no optical image stabilization, no HDR mode, no RAW output, no manual shutter speed, and no back-illuminated sensor. A single LED flash is present on the rear, though it is neither dual-tone nor RGB. On the privacy side, it offers clipboard warnings, location privacy controls, camera and microphone access management, and app tracking blocking, though it does not include Mail Privacy Protection or cross-site tracking prevention. Customisation options are broad, covering dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customisation, widgets, and customisable notifications, while productivity features include split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, a media picker, sharing intents, Live Text, and the ability to play games while they download. The device also supports app offloading, a child lock, battery health checks, and an extra dim display mode, but does not offer focus modes, Wi-Fi password sharing, Quick Start, or direct OS updates from the vendor.

The Vivo Y21d houses a 6500 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery that supports 44W wired fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are not supported.

The Vivo Y21d includes stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack and does not feature a built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, it lacks support for aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC, meaning high-resolution or low-latency Bluetooth audio codecs are not available on this device.

The Vivo Y21d supports 4G LTE cellular connectivity but does not include 5G, and accommodates two SIM cards alongside an external memory slot for storage expansion. Security is handled by a fingerprint scanner, with no 3D facial recognition or iris scanner on board, and features such as emergency SOS via satellite, crash detection, a built-in projector, and a stylus are not included.

The Vivo Y21d includes a video light for illumination during video recording, while its display is flat rather than curved and uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
