Vivo Y28 5G

It holds an IP54 ingress protection rating, meaning it offers resistance to dust and water splashes, though it is not built to a rugged standard. The overall volume comes in at just under 100 cm³, giving the device a reasonably compact physical footprint for its size class.

The Vivo Y28 5G uses an IPS LCD touchscreen measuring 6.56 inches, with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and a pixel density of 269 ppi. The panel supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which contributes to smoother on-screen motion during everyday use. It does not include branded damage-resistant glass, an Always-On Display mode, or support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision, and there is no secondary screen present.

The Vivo Y28 5G is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 system-on-chip, fabricated on a 7 nm process and paired with 8GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MHz, alongside 128GB of internal storage and a maximum supported memory amount of 16GB. The octa-core CPU runs two performance cores at 2.2 GHz and six efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz, employing big.LITTLE technology and multithreading across 8 threads, with 64-bit support throughout. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G57 MP2 GPU clocked at 950 MHz, while the chip also includes integrated LTE. Memory bandwidth reaches up to 17.07 GB/s, and the cache hierarchy consists of 512 KB L1, 1 MB L2, and 2 MB L3 cache.

The Vivo Y28 5G features a dual-lens rear camera combining a 50 MP sensor at f/1.8 and a 2 MP sensor at f/2.4, both using a CMOS sensor without back-side illumination or optical image stabilization. The main camera supports phase-detection autofocus for stills, continuous autofocus during video, and touch autofocus, along with a range of manual controls including exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, though manual shutter speed is not available. It can record video at 1080p and 30 fps, with additional support for slow-motion recording, HDR mode, burst shooting, timelapse, and in-camera panoramas, while a single LED flash is present but without dual-tone or RGB capability. On the front, an 8 MP single-lens camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies, though it lacks its own flash and is not positioned under the display. Neither RAW capture, 360-degree panorama, laser autofocus, HDR10 video recording, nor 3D photo or video capabilities are included.

The Vivo Y28 5G runs Android 13 and includes a broad set of privacy controls, covering location access, camera and microphone permissions, clipboard warnings, and the ability to block app tracking, though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. On the usability side, it supports dark mode, dynamic theming, theme customization, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, widgets, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, full-page screenshots, sharing intents, and the ability to play games while they download. On-device machine learning is supported alongside offline voice recognition, voice commands, live text selection from images, phone tracking, and multi-user functionality. A child lock is available for parental controls. Features not included are Wi-Fi password sharing, battery health check, focus modes, app offloading, direct OS vendor updates, and Quick Start.

The Vivo Y28 5G is equipped with a 5000 mAh rechargeable battery that supports 15W fast charging, and a charger is included in the box. A battery level indicator is present for monitoring charge status. The battery is non-removable and does not support wireless charging.

The Vivo Y28 5G includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, offering wired audio connectivity without the need for an adapter. It does not feature stereo speakers, and none of the advanced Bluetooth audio codecs — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC — are supported. There is also no built-in radio receiver.

The Vivo Y28 5G supports 5G cellular connectivity and accommodates two SIM cards, with download speeds reaching up to 2770 Mbits/s and upload speeds up to 1250 Mbits/s. NFC, HDMI output, DLNA certification, ANT+, satellite SOS, crash detection, motion tracking, optical tracking, and a built-in projector are not supported, and no stylus is included.

The Vivo Y28 5G includes a video light, which can assist with illumination during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, and neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel is used in its construction.
