Vivo Y29 4G

On the durability front, the device carries an IP64 rating, meaning it offers solid protection against dust ingress and resistance to water splashing from any direction.

The Vivo Y29 4G features a 6.68″ IPS LCD touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 720 x 1608 px, translating to a pixel density of 264 ppi. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, or Dolby Vision enhanced color formats. There is no Always-On Display mode and no secondary screen, keeping the panel setup straightforward.

The Vivo Y29 4G is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G, a 6 nm chipset with an octa-core CPU configuration running four cores at 2.8 GHz and four at 1.9 GHz across 8 threads, with integrated LTE and big.LITTLE technology for workload balancing. Graphics are handled by an integrated Adreno 610 GPU clocked at 1260 MHz, supporting DirectX 12, OpenGL ES 3.2, and OpenCL 2. The device comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MHz — expandable up to 16GB maximum — alongside 256GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage and support for external memory cards up to 1TB, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 17 GB/s. In benchmarks, the chipset scores 420,000 on AnTuTu, 1510 and 473 on Geekbench 6 multi- and single-core respectively, and 1787 and 442 on Geekbench 5 multi- and single-core. The Vivo Y29 4G uses a single rear camera with a 50 MP CMOS sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, featuring 0.8 µm pixels and no optical image stabilization. Autofocus is handled via phase-detection and touch AF, with continuous autofocus available during video recording, though laser autofocus is absent. The main camera records video at 1080p 30 fps and supports slow-motion recording, but does not offer optical zoom, HDR10 recording, Dolby Vision recording, or 3D capture. Manual controls cover exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while a single LED flash, burst mode, in-camera panorama, timelapse, and HDR mode round out the feature set — RAW capture and manual shutter speed are not supported. On the front, there is an 8 MP single-lens camera with an f/2.0 aperture; it has no LED flash, is not positioned under the display, and does not shoot in dual-lens configuration.

The Vivo Y29 4G runs Android 15 and includes a solid range of privacy controls, covering clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking — though cross-site tracking blocking, Mail Privacy Protection, and Wi-Fi password sharing are not available. On the usability side, the OS supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, an extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page scrolling screenshots, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, a child lock, and the ability to play games while they download. It also includes on-device machine learning, offline voice recognition, voice commands, Live Text in images, app offloading, a battery health check, multi-user support, and phone tracking. Direct OS updates from the vendor are not provided, and the device does not support focus modes, Quick Start, or PC mode.

The Vivo Y29 4G houses a 6500 mAh rechargeable battery with a built-in level indicator, offering a notably large capacity for its class. It supports 44W fast charging, helping to reduce time spent tethered to a cable, though wireless charging is not available. The battery is non-removable and cannot be swapped out by the user.

The Vivo Y29 4G features stereo speakers but omits a 3.5 mm headphone jack, so wired audio requires an adapter or a USB-C solution. There is no built-in radio. On the wireless audio side, the device does not support any high-quality Bluetooth codec — aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, and LDAC are all absent.

The Vivo Y29 4G includes a video light, which remains active during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, uses neither sapphire glass nor an e-paper panel.
