Vivo Y300 GT

The Vivo Y300 GT has a standard slate form factor — it neither folds nor carries a rugged build — measuring 163.7mm tall, 75.9mm wide, and 8.1mm thick, with a total volume of around 100.64 cm³. It weighs 212g and holds an IP65 ingress protection rating, meaning it is certified as water resistant against low-pressure jets, offering a practical degree of protection for everyday use in wet conditions.

The Vivo Y300 GT features a 6.78″ OLED/AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 px and a pixel density of 453 ppi, producing a sharp and detailed image across its large panel. It runs at a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches a typical brightness of 2000 nits, making content reasonably visible in varying lighting conditions. Always-On Display is supported, allowing glanceable information without fully waking the screen. The display does not include branded damage-resistant glass, and it lacks support for HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. There is no secondary screen on this device.

The Vivo Y300 GT is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chipset, a 4nm octa-core SoC with 8 threads configured in a big.LITTLE arrangement — one core at 3.25GHz, three at 3GHz, and four efficiency cores at 2.15GHz — with HMP enabling all cores to run simultaneously. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM running at 4267MHz across 4 memory channels, a maximum memory bandwidth of 68.2 GB/s, and supports up to 24GB total memory. Internal storage stands at 512GB. Graphics are handled by the integrated Mali G720 MC7 GPU clocked at 1300MHz, supporting DirectX 12, OpenCL 2, and OpenGL ES 3.2. The chip is built on a 64-bit architecture and includes NX bit and TrustZone security features. Cache configuration includes 1MB of L2 cache and 6MB of L3 cache at 6MB per core. Geekbench 6 scores are recorded at 1571 for single-core and 6033 for multi-core workloads.

The Vivo Y300 GT has a dual-lens rear camera system with a 50MP primary sensor at f/1.8 and a 2MP secondary lens at f/2.4, both using CMOS technology without a back-illuminated sensor. The main camera supports optical image stabilization, phase-detection autofocus for stills, continuous autofocus during video, and touch autofocus, though laser autofocus is not present. Manual controls extend to exposure, ISO, focus, and white balance, while manual shutter speed is not available. Video recording reaches up to 4K at 30fps, with slow-motion and timelapse modes also on board; HDR10 and Dolby Vision recording are not supported. A single LED flash is included — not dual-tone or RGB — and there is no front-facing flash. The rear camera handles burst shooting, in-camera panoramas, and HDR photos, but does not shoot 360-degree panoramas or 3D content. On the front, a 16MP single-lens camera at f/2.5 is mounted in a conventional position above the display — not under it — and does not have its own flash or a secondary lens.

The Vivo Y300 GT runs Android 15 and ships with a broad set of privacy controls, including clipboard warnings, location privacy options, camera and microphone access management, and the ability to block app tracking — though cross-site tracking blocking and Mail Privacy Protection are not present. On the usability side, it supports dark mode, dynamic and manual theme customization, extra dim mode, customizable notifications, a media picker, full-page screenshots, split-screen multitasking, Picture-in-Picture, widgets, sharing intents, a child lock, and the ability to offload apps. Games can be played while still downloading, and the system accommodates multiple user accounts. Voice commands and offline voice recognition are available, and the device supports phone tracking and on-device machine learning. Live Text selection from images is included, as is a battery health check tool. Wi-Fi password sharing, focus modes, and Quick Start are not supported, and OS updates are not delivered directly from the platform vendor. The underlying platform is free and open source.

The Vivo Y300 GT houses a 7620 mAh rechargeable, non-removable battery with a built-in level indicator. It supports 90W wired fast charging, allowing for relatively quick top-ups from a wired connection. Wireless charging is not available on this device.

The Vivo Y300 GT features stereo speakers for built-in audio output and supports both aptX and aptX HD Bluetooth codecs, enabling higher-quality wireless audio over compatible headphones. However, it does not support aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, or LDAC. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on this device, and no FM radio is included.

The Vivo Y300 GT supports 5G connectivity with a dual SIM configuration and a maximum download speed of 5170 Mbits/s. Wi-Fi covers three generations — Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) — and Bluetooth 5.4 is on board. The device uses a USB Type-C port running USB 2.0 and does not include an external memory slot, NFC, or HDMI output. Biometric security is handled by a fingerprint scanner; 3D facial recognition and an iris scanner are not present, and no stylus is included. On the sensor side, the phone carries a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, infrared sensor, and GPS with Galileo support, while a barometer, heart rate monitor, ANT+ support, and motion or optical tracking are absent. Satellite emergency SOS and crash detection are not available, and the device is not DLNA-certified nor does it have a built-in projector.

The Vivo Y300 GT includes a video light, which can be used to illuminate subjects during video recording. The display is flat rather than curved, uses no sapphire glass, and there is no e-paper screen on this device.
