The Wooting 80HE is a mechanical gaming keyboard in a tenkeyless (80%) layout with a standard profile, connecting to a system via USB with a detachable cable and reaching a polling rate of 8000 Hz. It uses a gasket mount construction and is not designed for Mac. Physically, it measures 346 mm wide, 142 mm tall, and 28.4 mm thick, with a weight of 800 g. The keyboard is not designed for Mac use, and it comes backed by a four-year warranty.
The keyboard features a plastic case in black with a polycarbonate plate, and it includes adjustable feet for tilt customization, though no wrist rest is bundled. It has a fully backlit layout with RGB lighting directed in a north-facing orientation, which is relevant for shine-through keycap compatibility. A wrist rest is not included in the package.
The Wooting 80HE uses Wooting Lekker L45 Hall effect switches, which have a linear feel and are hot-swappable, allowing them to be replaced without soldering. Actuation distance is adjustable anywhere between 0.1 mm and 4 mm, with a total travel distance of 4 mm and an actuation force of 45 g.
The Wooting 80HE includes a strong set of input features, with rapid trigger, dual actuation, adjustable actuation, and analog input all supported, alongside full N-key rollover for simultaneous keypress registration. It does not offer USB passthrough, a built-in display, or support for QMK, ZMK, or VIA firmware customization.
The keyboard uses an ANSI (United States) layout with a standard key arrangement and no rotary dial. Keycaps are made from PBT with dye-sublimation printing in an OEM profile, offering a commonly used sculpted shape across the rows. Media functions are accessible through the Fn key rather than dedicated keys.
